Saturday is looking very interesting all of a sudden, as the winds back more westerly before the Low arrives

Met Office App has heavy snow for tomorrow, from bone dry yesterday.

Actually, it has been showing that for a few runs now. The showers look like having decent intensity and the wind should be slack so if you catch a shower it may last for a while. Maybe some snow to lower levels but settling snow the further inland and with elevation.

I’m puzzled at the Amber warnings for anywhere North of Manchester going of the available data at hand.

Same, maybe there higher res models have it further north?

Met office obviously aren’t following the Euro4 as they say the heaviest snow will be on the northern edge, if you read the warning instead of panicking!

Nice to see that they expect the showers to be of snow tomorrow. Let's hope we get a subzero night tonight to prepare the ground.

Bit gloomy in the SE thread (couldn't resist having a peek).

Talk of 2-3 inches of rain, flooding and wind damage.

I'll take the dumping of snow anyday over that grotty crud.

P.S Stop laughing at our SE friends...smirk...arf...chortle...

What are the met and beeb going from regards tomorrow. Yellow warning for snow and ice tomorrow and Sunday.

Met has snow constantly from 10am tomorrow until gone midnight on Monday. Light interspersed with heavy.

BBC has snow constantly from 12pm tomorrow until gone midnight on Monday. Light interspersed with heavy.

Where are they getting this from and what sort of depth are we looking at. Could be 6-12 inches, going by the thumbnails.

Latest snow accumulation chart from Euro4. I always take note if this model predicts lying snow. http://expert-images.images-weatheronline.com/daten/proficharts/en/euro4/2017/12/08/basis06/ukuk/weas/17121006_0806.gif ?

Shouldn't you be in the Welsh thread? :p

*ducks for cover from incoming objects*

That is all you can say? :) I posted it there as well and explained before to the mods that sometimes I post here - they did not have any issue. The weather don't know borders. I am still in the NW (even if in forecasts you never know what NW means -NW Scotland, Wales, England or NI)... ?
