North West England Regional Weather Discussion 23/04/2017 onwards

Staying on the cold side of the jet all next week from the 'weather for the week ahead' update on BBC.  So no sign of any mild wet mush for the foreseeable.

That purple patch is certainly interesting - hopefully that bottom edge moves a bit further south with regards to being snow purely from a selfish point of view - can still see central Manchester seeing cold rain instead of the white stuff until it happens :nonono:

acc to gfs/ukmo/ecm at 144 (wed ) it will be wet!!

Just saw a flash of lightning here also, just been hail here with perhaps the odd snowflake mixed in although the intension at one point was the most interesting it' been all night.

Yes the BBC didn't quite put the graphics on for wednesday and said an initial pulse of milder (less cold air) so it could be rain for everybody except for scottish mountains but hopefully another cool down towards end of next week.

Yes, for snow lovers if we could see more charts like that throughout December then we would certainly be going through a purple patch, rather than the barron spells of last few years.

Saw that hell of a fork lightening strike over to the west about 10pm

been grauple. Sleet and odd flake since 9

hmmm now that is interesting, the latest radar shows a cyclonic development on the western side of the trough. Very interesting.
