0c dew -3c clear but showers incoming in next few hours... lookslike showers really building in Irish Sea...

I've just come back from Ashton and looking WNW I can see the anvils reflecting the orange glow of the street lights.

Currently 5.3/-1.1. Dewpoints are now conducive so just need those lower 850s. After midnight with some heavy precipitation I think it is game on.

they will be rain away from very high ground..

How high do you think, your house, my house, top of Bleaklow.

personally I think anyone above 150 metres should see a bit of settling snow, providing we actually get the damn showers.

the tops of the South Pennines and Peak District could see a decent covering which with several cold days set to follow should give some fantastic walking conditions.

Hoping the showers over SW Scotland/Cumbria are a more organised trough.

Problem is that the showers are aligned perfectly but about 30 miles to our north and just to rub it in even more are having no problem at all crossing the Pennines and turning West Yorkshire white.

However you can put your last tenner on any that point themselves in our direction will fade before they reach us.

Clear skies now but it's good to know the sleet that fell earlier is still resting on the cars, so temps on the way down.  Irish sea looks to be kicking into life as well.

Have a peak at the MO radar.

Looks ok for us.

Colder air behind the trough

Yes I've been lucky at this altitude under that line of showers.

Cars and roofs white but awaiting that lot to the north.
