Hail and light snow mix at Manc airport

Everything is evolving a little slower than I thought it would. It was never expected to be wintry in our region until at least 10pm.. however low lying areas (even inland) in NI and Scotland are still reporting rain. That, as I'm sure you'll agree is not how this is supposed to be scripted. That doesn't mean it won't snow tonight, but perhaps the sea surface temperatures are causing more marginality than originally expected near the coast/western low lying areas.

next 6 hours make or break for my location- if i dont see any snow showers starting to pack in by 1am then i think its game over personally.

Re: the hype.. it's understandable there would be hype because sometimes these situations deliver.. sometimes they do not, however it's been a while since we've had a situation like this where there is potential snow showers from a seaward direction. Therefore our bad experiences tend to be forgotten, whereas our hope often takes centre stage. This one, as yet is an unknown.. however it is looking less likely it'll be the winter wonderland many were expecting in more low lying areas.

for some people yes, although judging by some posts you'd think life savings had been bet on snow. 

but in general yes I agree it's very enjoyable following the run-up and the event itself.

‘The worst of the snow showers’. So she means not very good, poor, not heavy, not settling,weak? 

OR

the opposite. Which in my book would be the best of the snow showers.

Why is it the ‘best’ of the sunshine (which causes cancer) and the worst of the ‘snow showers’.
