Good to be back in the season, cant believe its 2005 when I joined

Needs to be further north for me, SW Manc in Alty although 10 miles in a SW direction from city centre makes a huge difference for both sliders and gap streamers

6z has moved it slightly north, not knowledgeable enough to know how upstream profile affects the "landing" position, guess we'll see on the day

a noticeable one too..

The median position of the models this morning would be perfect for both of us.

At least there's a bit of wriggle room now.

Those snow-depth forecasts suit me just fine up to Saturday, 10cm+ for the High Peak between now and Saturday. With Sunday's event being thrown in it looks like Buxton is the place to be.

Looks like a big dump of snow for us on Sunday. Getting windier out and getting cooler.

Quite a big upgrade on the app for moorside oldham just now- heavy snow starts at 7pm and lasts until around 3 !!

FG hope your reading !!

it is 300m tho folks..

actually that could be a trough...6 hours or so of heavy snow with temps close to freezing will give a good couple of inches-

Unfortunately around here tonight could be a bit of a rainfest before turning colder and then any showers dying out, thats just sods law unfortunately but it will be interesting observe if this cheshire streamer does occur and what people's observations will be. As per usual, the GFS is too quick in bringing the colder air so it looks a bit marginal but friday day time, then snow should fall to lower levels for certain.

As for Sunday, well it looks very messy to say the least. Maybe there is the potential for 2 bands of PPN with one on the south coast with the channel low and hopefully one over our region where it can tap into that coider air and perhaps fall as snow. Its all looks so marginal too me but we see how the forecasts turn out when the details get a little more certain.

Definitely going to be a busy day in Manchester with the Markets, Trafford Center sales, Mariah Carey at the arena, and the Derby fixture up at Old Trafford. Add snow into all this aswell for those travelling by public transport and it's a headache for the organizers.
