Will have broke its banks in places as well. Can't see it because I'm at work.

Manchester rain shadow mostly been doing its thing today other than some heavy showers an hour or so ago.

Amazing how it can be so wet in Wales and Cumbria and yet we get off lightly here.

Got hit by a squall line at around 2ish...up until then mostly light intermittent rain, nowhere near as bad as what they've had in the lakes today.  A few showers following on from the main band of rain...better day hopefully on the cards tomorrow

Wet and windy day here but nothing out of the ordinary although the heavy showers late afternoon did cause a bit of minor short lived flooding.

hopefully it's not the start of a pattern of weeks of rain

As forecast a very wet day here, upwards of over 2 inches easily, possibly about 60mm. Roads badly affected, rivers at very high levels.. we've been here many times before. The ground is sodden wet now, and from now until Spring it has very little chance of drying out so to speak, hence it won't take much for localised flooding to occur even under only moderate falls of rain - around an inch or so.

The build up to the extensive floods of early Dec 2015 saw weeks of very wet conditions, with a few similiar events to that of today occuring.. however, I have a sneaky feeling a marked change will come about later this month, we've had three months solid of persistant atlantic driven conditions and it will break soon.

Well it has been quite wet today with significant road flooding and lots of fields underwater either just from standing water or becks overflowing.

respite tomorrow but Friday looks like a rinse (literally!) and repeat.

Just 5 mm here, mostly drizzle, nothing interesting.

Oh dear tomorrow looks like bringing another deluge, it won't take much for further flooding.. there are shades of Nov 2009 about the current synoptics, but thankfully we don't look like seeing the same rainfall totals.

Let's hope!! Potential of up to an extra 4" + over the next 24hrs. Everything is sodden...and ready to over top with a little encouragement!

Well remarkably that’s 3 dry days in a row; at least If there was any rain last night then it wasn’t enough to register in the gauge. Joint second warmest night of the year with a minimum of 16.9°C. Truly exceptional.
