The remains of ex-tropical storm Maria will be absorbed by a larger low-pressure system to the NW of Ireland. I believe that the wins tonight are associated with that low. Lee  dissipated  2 days ago in the Mid atlantic.

First day of Autumn here today that's truly felt like winter is around the corner, with an icy-chill to the wind and being overcast for the majority of the day. Layers and radiators on for the rest of the evening.

Really horrible night here now, wind's getting up and peeing down and as if it couldn't get any worse, a double episode of Corrie.

if this is what the next few months have in store I need a hobby.

Another horrible Saturdays weather here with wall to wall cloud and showers on and off since before dawn.

just a shame that a cool northwesterly is wasted at this time of year.

hopefully the forecast comes off with a more usable day tomorrow.

Today has been a write off weatherwise, hopefully tomorrow will be better, although it couldn't really be worse.......Or could it.

Oh dear the dreaded southwesterlies are back. Next 24 hours could bring 100 mm to some spots in the Lake District  meaning flooding. We had flooding a week or so ago. I detest southwesterlies.
