Yeah its not often that we get better weather weather than those down south but it's nice when it happens.

it does bug me though when a couple of days rain in the SE is the only conversation on the lips of everyone on TV and radio.

i have to endure over 50 years of the stuff up here and learned to just get wet and get on with it.

Not surprised living in a country where only the south east matters

Yep as I said the other day it's always a washout when it's down there and everyone is like "rain? how strange, this can't be right". They get all the storms as well yet they say we are stealing them all! Lol rant over.

Did better than expected today, the rain hasn't really materialised although the skies have darkened over the past few hours.  Over in the model thread, you know things are not looking good for the rest of summer, when 16 day plus charts are being pulled out to show signs of optimism.

Good clear skies outside tonight albeit chilly with just 5'c forecast for the rural early morning hours, wrapping up in 4 layers to spot the last of the Perseid meteors for this year.

About 11.30pm several flashes and thunder followed by heavy rain.  Off to bed now and currently quiet and rain stopped.

A good hour of thundery rain for us here in the Peaks, certainly caught me out by surprise when I was closing the upstairs curtains at half-11.

Glad I decided to stay home tonight, quite a bit of rain making it's way inland off the Irish Sea tonight.

Awful start to the day here with continuous showers pushing in across Lancashire and dumping more than my fare share of rain.

Can our summer get any worse.

Longest period of sunshine so far here today, 5 minutes and counting but looking down the valley, where most of our wet weather comes from its more dark grey clouds so it looks like the drought won't last.

role of the warm wind and rain in Mexico.

at least the beer is cold.....and already paid for.

I've got a 5 minute summer here too.

Dry since early afternoon, turned out better than expected in the end.
