23c, sultry feel, threatening looking skies..........all the ingredients for a damn good storm and then it arrives, drizzle.

if this is all that is left in the severe weather cabinet after darn sarf had first refusal on it can I please have my sunshine and drought conditions back.

About 5 minutes of a drizzle fest, that in reality did not even wet the ground.

I think the drizzle has officially turned to light rain.

at least the flower tubs won't need a drink tonight.

A solitary strike as appeared to hit just north west of Manchester.... wonder who the lucky ones were who witnessed that.  A small cluster now mustering in the Gtr Mcr area after leaving cheshire.

OMG, just had two rumbles of thunder.

Maybe all is not lost after all.

this is the worst year so far for storms in these parts, only one thunder day so far , and that wasn't overhead , back in the day widespread storms meant just that,   if the forecast said isolated you would get something similar to today, with a few select locations getting thunder,

now it seems widespread storms forecast just means you get very isolated ones :nonono:  , and  isolated means..err nothing anywhere:rofl:

Damp miserable start with a gradual improvement into what is now a lovely evening.

Then tomorrow sees a descent into what is looking more and more like another weekend washout before something better arrives just in time for the start of the working week.

never mind, I suppose summer 2017 could be worse, it could be a repeat of summer 2012 instead.

Weather here in Liverpool is awful. Heavy rain, dark skies and windy.

Just moderate rain with no wind here so far, think the main part is reaching me now though. Back home now by the way.

Got torrential for a minute then, dying down again now. Still no wind but I just might be sheltered from that direction.

This wind orientation perfectly shows Manchester's rain shadow. Only light rain here so far while I can see areas around me having heavier bursts. Hopefully when the squal line comes I will get it heavy otherwise I will still need to water the plants tomorrow.
