It's been weird today - muggy but damp, but as you say early this coming week looking good. Prob a case of make the most of it, looks crap after that. I'm not even looking forward to Winter, no doubt the same usual dusting once a month that's gone by late morning.

Agree with last bit! 2017 now, proper snow finished around '99, just the odd good month

Two decent days coming up to be fair, its cloudy and muggy midlands south, at least we are now in the more refreshing air and decent sunny spells.  Ditto tomorrow, and if it turns a bit unsettled towards mid/end of next week, at least it will provided testing conditions for the pro-golfers at next week's Open Championship.  We can't have them strolling around with their big long drivers making a mockery of the course....more wind please.

Beautiful summer's Day here,just how I like it 23c clear skies and wall to wall sunshine.

Had a quick look in the MOD (silly me) I see the GFS has gone off on one with some very hot stuff,reminded me of that ECM a few winter's back,chances of the 12z GFS coming of about 5% IMO.

Without meaning to sound negative; no - probably not. 

 I always find unless we are the sweet spot, storms generally avoid us.. If there is higher CAPE and instability to the south of us, it usually signals they will die out before reaching here, and unfortunately, that looks like what will happen overnight. It may be that we get moderate rain, but that's all we will get. 

We just don't fare well from storms from the south, unless we have very very high CAPE (ie over 2500j/kg)/humidity etc. We are more successful from the west (ie polar maritime showers in winter)

Looking like a bust here unless you like convective rain then you're in luck

 You can see how little hope there is for storms here.. which is not surprising. However there is a possibility that a few will see something later this afternoon. It hinges on this low cloud moving away though which isn't guaranteed. 

I have to work at the botanic gardens today and it's a choice whether to take waterproofs or not. I think I'll leave them and just use shorts and t shirt as I'm not convinced we will get anything here.

Could be some interesting pictures coming from the Open Golf practice sessions, some nasty stuff coming in off the Irish Sea... personally speaking I'm fully expecting to miss any of the action this far east.  Then fresher weather takes us into a showery setup after Friday's rain band pushes through.

Apparently golf been cancelled due to storm warning. Its getting very dark out towards the river. Odd spots of rain.

Storms as predicted have died out over here just giving a brief shower of rain. It's looking like it'll be the 5th year in a row without a proper thunderstorm. It simply technically very difficult to get storms to initiate here even in favourable conditions
