A warm and sunny day, Max 22.4°C. Warmer than forecast again despite the on-shore breeze. This seems to be a common occurrence here this year.

Strangely it doesn't feel as warm, muggy as I thought it was going to be tonight, considering the temps.  Might be a slight easterly breeze in place.  Certainly nothing as uncomfortable as a few weeks ago.  Fully expecting to miss the isolated t-storm potential tomorrow and fresher conditions to sweep in without too much fuss.

Lovely day again today with no signs of any thunderstorms due here :drunk:

We've missed out as a region on the thunderstorms today.  I'm not surprised, but they really kicked off the other side of the pennines and peak district.  It's as though the battalion as crept stealthily through our parts, but then emerged from cover and exploded into action once over the tops of the hills.  Still feels muggy though.

Met Office regional forecast at 9pm is laughable.

Any remaining thunderstorms will clear eastwards this evening.....

Do they not look at their own radar and lightning detectors?

Also exposes a flaw in the warning system. No need for this region to be under warning til 2am.

NW england

Today:

After some early patchy rain, today will be a cloudier day than yesterday. It will become dry, with some bright spells, but it will feel fresher than recent days. Over the hills it will also be breezy. Maximum Temperature 20 °C.

Almost the complete opposite here today. Dry and sunny  this morning, max 22.0 C, now raining and 20 C!

A lovely sunny start to the day here, just hope this isn't as good as it gets for the weekend and we can share in some of the consistently dry and warm weather that others seem to have been enjoying for weeks.

Perfect weather today, long sunny spells, not too hot with temps in low 20's and a nice breeze.  Very comfortable for being outdoors, and shouldn't be a problem sleeping overnight.

A cloudy start but the suns out again now, just hope it turns out as good as yesterday, especially as the forecast is showing a breakdown to cooler and more showery conditions from Monday onwards.

Quite a fresh feeling mid summers day, thanks to an injection of cooler uppers from the NW - quite pleasant, good day for doing outdoor stuff etc despite the early rain and general cloudiness.

Remainder of the week looks set very average with average temperatures, bits of rain at times and some sunny breaks under a westerly feed. Next week could see a major change to something much warmer drier and sunnier, and sustained... would be good timing for schools breaking up, though some are rather late this year, around here some not until the 26th which is exceptionally late, due to a 2 week holiday late May/early June. I think schools should break up earlier in July rather than later, and go back a bit earlier in late August to make more use of lighter conditions and generally greater chance of drier more settled weather, late August can be distinctly autumnal here.

Disgusting days weather for mid summer with a system which should have stayed to our south deciding to annoy us instead.

No doubt if the same set up arises on a cold feed in mid January then it'll reach as far as the north Midlands and we'll get nothing more than blue skies and sunshine.

And so this years yo yo summer continuous, after yesterday's washout comes a really lovely day and at 21c, decent enough temperatures.

personally I'd happily take today's conditions for the next couple of months but I can't see it happening.

A cold night last night with a min of 9.6°C, unusual for this time of year here. Very sunny day today with a max of 20.9°C. Tonight looks warmer with more of a variable wind.

Managed 21c here under blue skies though last night felt autumn cold :nonono:

Adore cold nights. Nothing like snuggling under the duvet rather than tossing and turning on top of it.

Seems we can't manage 3 days without it raining this summer.

The rain largely missed Manchester last night so I will still have to water the plants when I get back from work.

Tomorrow's rain also looks patchy.

The rain coming in off the Irish Sea has our name on it, it's been a while from memory since it last rained on a Friday evening through this spring and summer. Beers in the fridge instead for me tonight, staying home and dry.
