We had a brief splish splash of raindrops this morning, then nothing until about half 7 when we had a brief showery outbreak, but only the very slightest of damp hitting the ground. Its been a very muggy humid day despite the cloud cover - not particularly pleasant. Tomorrow will bring a return to average conditions, indeed the next week looks distinctly cool with a strong wind setting in, and much cloud with some rain.

25C and a dew point of 20C at 9.20pm at Manchester airport.

Looks like cooler air flow along south coast now. Warmest air mass now shifting to West Midlands, Cheshire and Manchester outside the heat island of London

22C at this time of night, pretty unusual at any time of the year. And I am in a semi rural part of Failsworth. Must be a few degrees warmer than this in Manc city centre.

What a dark, miserable morning.  Given current model output looks like we are resuming our usual "Forever Autumn"

I slept so well last night! The first proper night’s sleep in many days. It makes such a difference.

After today’s weather, the weekend is looking pleasantly bright and fresh. :-)

You forgot the howling wind.

Flippin' freezing you mean! And it looks thoroughly overcast for Manchester.

Why does it have to be either 29C or 16C? Wouldn't 23C be much nicer for everyone? With a bit of sunshine that would be perfect.

23c would work for me, 29c though is really uncomfortable especially in the city. It seems that the comfortable temperature range is very short here.

I have friends up in the Pyrenees and the climate there is ideal. No matter how warm or hot it gets in the day, the nights are always cool and comfortable for sleeping. Then in the winter they get good dumpings of snow!

Today has been one of those rare days which actually turns out better than forecast.

cloudy morning but a brighter and sometimes sunny afternoon and dry through when we were looking at drizzle and murk up here.

still with a maximum of 16c  it's poor compared to last weekend but not a bad day for a few outside jobs.

I was gearing myself up for an all-day drizzlefest according to the BBC weather forecast but it was remarkably dry apart from a very late drizzle shower.  Could get quite a bit of rain on Tuesday if that band sinks lower south.  Sorry Scotland but I hope you keep it company for most of the day.

Can't speak for others but it looks like today is going to be drizzlefest day here or at least that's what we've got at the moment.

so much for a day of outside jobs.

Interesting to see that the Met have me slap bang under one of the smallest weather warning areas you'll ever see so must be expecting something on the heavy side overnight and into Tuesday.

i don't want weather like this in June so if anyone wants to take it off my hands it's free to a good home.

Yes looks like we'll be reverting back to default type summer weather in the next 36-48 hrs... with an appreciable amount of rain to fall.  Won't take long for the current theme of 'much needed rain' turns to 'flooding due to sodden ground'.  Give it a few weeks.

Haha yes the Autumn  Summer monsoon. I don't like heat but the weather coming up looks thoroughly miserable. Can't believe we didn't get a decent thunderstorm out of the heat last week either! gutting! not looking forward to Winter either, probably another wild goose chase. Waste of time in this country being a weather enthusiast.
