Winds have picked up, slate grey skies, and noticeably fresher but still warm as the winds switch to a westerly element.  Bit of a let down here today, would have expected something better to signal the end of 3 very hot and sunny days.  Some have struck it lucky.  Probably the best place was overnight in the south west.  Devon/Cornwall hit some impressive strike rates.

Full cloud now and without the sun, temperatures have fallen back a fair bit, currently 18c here.

still no rain though.

Damp miserable start to the day up here as the remnants of the overnight rain clear through.

the forecast is to brighten up and leave a sunny second half of the day.......just hope they've got it right.

The light but persistent drizzle this morning which does not show up on the radar as wetted the ground much more that the colourful volatile near misses of yesterday.  Should hopefully brighten up later before some heavy rain pushes up from the south overnight.

Damp, quite windy and very misty up here.

anyone would think it's a Bank Holiday Monday.

Another poor day, even this afternoon's forecast clearance has failed to arrive up here.

Early days yet but I hope that's not it for summer.

A lovely day today, certainly an improvement on Tuesday.

just a shame that cloud has moved in right at the time I could go outside and enjoy it.

still it's better than rain I suppose.

A lovely day until mid afternoon, warmer than forecast yet again, what a surprise! Max 23.4°C. A few showers this evening.

22c here this afternoon, still a muggy 18c under cloud now.

its kept fine, just about although a few spots of rain as I was cutting the grass but at least that job is done for another week.

the lawns or what loosely passes for them in our garden are looking thoroughly parched now and starting to turn brown so maybe the hose pipe beckons for the first time in several years.

Don't worry, I didn't put the kiss of death on it.

just looked at the forecast and left the hose pipe wrapped up.

sunny and dry here at the moment and reached 21c late afternoon but rain likely overnight.

off to Manchester for a couple of nights tomorrow including Robbie Williams at the Etihad Friday evening so just hope the front has passed through and sodded off down south by then.

strange but it will the first time I've ever spent the night in Manchester unless you can count sleeping in the back of a car after a night out but as its only 20 miles away, it's hardly on my bucket list of weekend break destinations.

At least it'll be good to have a few beers rather than driving though.

Looking like an all day wash out on Monday, we already have a yellow warning issued.  Mostly dodging the showers today feels quite warm in the sunny spells with a refreshing breeze.  Almost perfect weather.  A far cry from tomorrow's forecast.

Third washout Monday in a row, 20mm of rain now and it's still chucking it down.

Yes indeed, but thankfully we've had three fairly decent Sunday's, rather have a miserable Monday than a wet miserable Sunday. Today has been preety woeful, cool to boot with incessant rain. Tomorrow promises equally poor fayre, ditto Thursday and the weekend already looks like delivering more of the same, which in turn will mean a preety poor start to summer.
