My weather stats so far this Summer, paint a skewed picture of it. Going by general memory, I would consider it a very good Summer so far. Temps are sunshine hours are definitely above average. However, it has been much windier than last year, same with rainfall - surpassing last year by a long way, and quite a bit above average.

I would  agree with you . It hasn't been at all bad . I feel for those on school hols now , but to be honest don't we have a fair bit of rain in August anyway?

My tomatoes have ripened already, sweetpeas blooming .

June and July's rainfall totals would suggest wet months, but as you can see from my charts, it's come in a few high daily totals. There's plenty of dry days..

Not really much going on here, had a moderate/heavy shower a few hours ago, but no thunder, despite the thunder icon showing for 4 hours on the MetO forecast.

Heavy rain hit here this afternoon between 3pm and 6pm, 14.5mm.
Wind picked up to 15mph and some 20 mph gusts at that time WSW.
Stopped raining now and brightening up. Wind back to 4mph WSW.

Thanks @Zephyr They're taken on my phone - LG G6. It has a dual camera, one is a standard lens, the other a wide-angled lens - which I like using more. I use the manual controls instead of auto modes, and sometimes I set it to take a RAW image, so no processing is done by the phone, then I can edit it using Snapseed.

Today has been bookended by very gloomy conditions, this morning due to residual frontal cloud and this evening due to showers * .

In between summer made a very warm return with the max being 24.3c .

* anyone have any idea why a shower streamer has formed from roughly Thornbury - Bath - Frome?

Clear blue sky up until 1.30, dark clouds forming , but very warm and humid still( unless it's another chest infection ! ) .

very still , very quiet even the birds have stopped singing . Want to head to the coast this evening before the  rain starts . Might have to have a rethink looking at the sky. .
