The only discernible change so far is the temperature being 4c lower at this time of afternoon. Still a lot of sunshine although there were about 15 large raindrops just before midday from a developing cloud.

And those showers are where exactly?

Had a light shower here around lunchtime and a few large drops later his afternoon. Nothing really worth mentioning, in fact my station still shows 0.0mm.

Another weather that I have had on my phone (met office ) has been showing heavy rain for most of tomorrow yet not a weather warning in sight .

Much cooler today but all good temps still in the low 20s so can't complain and sunshine in parts .

Will be interesting to see what tomorrow brings I suppose .

Interesting cloud this morning with a couple of layers of Ac. According to the 00z sounding the main layer may be around 14,000 ft and the two different air masses are very well illustrated. Temp 14C and a zephyr from the WSW. Rain cometh

Further good news is the EC46 update this morning indicates above average temps, apart from the odd blip, for the last third of July and most of August with the Azores centred to the south west being influential.

The rain has reached here, moderate at the moment.

Don't use it all at once, Knocker, we would like some too.

I mentioned in reply to MPR several days ago that I wasn't sure how iffy this week would be, except for today, and that is now how it looks set to be.

So as with several times in May and June, a 20mm ish day tucked in among plenty of fine summer weather.

Started with heavy spots and now light rain, still a little while until the really heavy stuff gets here.

First rainfall of the month arrived about an hour ago and looks like lasting quite a while. Up to 2.2mm already. Also it's only 16.0°C.

Nothing remotely heavy here, it has just been drizzly, despite charts and forecasts saying otherwise.

.. just had 20 minutes of heavy-ish light rain, if you know what I mean? Bumped the total up to 11.2mm. It is definitely better this way, it soaks in to everything in the garden.

Been a good day for the garden here too....station has measured 17.2mm which has fallen fairly steadily since 2pm, still raining although the heavier stuff seems to have passed.  First rain here since June 28th.

7.8mm to about an hour ago, been light drizzle for much of the evening, but no doubt some heavier bursts to come overnight.

It's certainly falling now rather heavily. Temp 14 C . Rather therapeutic .

Oh think we had plenty too overnight, looking at the radar. .. plus I slept heavy which only happens when it properly rains heavy. Ha ha. Garden will be well happy after all that and the ground Les like concrete. Can't remember though if there was any more due? I best check the reports. Have a good day all.

Almost twice as much fell overnight as during the day yesterday, final total of 21.6mm.  Everywhere thoroughly watered.
