Still struggling to see real cold air as we are above the ZERO mark by 2C. DP is JUST hovering below, but it does show this is not COLD air yet, really still needs to dig in, for future hopes of good stuff, (sorry guys in the North of the region we are really southerners here).

Most of the region is under -8C upper air, but it makes no odds if the wetbulb temps aren't interested. Easterlies or GTFO for me. :D

I reckon he's been looking at that ridiculous ECM snow chart that keeps getting banded around on here. It makes the GFS precip-type chart look accurate at 384 hours.

Chris Fawkes on twitter saying midlands south 20cm Monday, especially central southern parts. I’m really sceptical about it to be honest. So marginal

Thank you. I bow to your better judgement (mine's limited to looking out the window) think I'd settle for just a quarter of that figure.

Yep, pretty shocked he’s quoting that to be honest, being as he’s a pro he should really know better, especially with the very marginal nature of Monday!

Marginal setups have delivered some of the best snowfalls in the past, Dec '81 (bet your gutted you missed that one, awesome snow depths even at sea level!) springs to mind, uppers weren't great either, higher than -5 if you look at the archive charts.

It looks wrong but of course this is its first proper test!

I've remembered tonight that the only thing worse than not being in a snow forecast zone is to actually be in one. Every new model run is a nervous experience worrying if what the previous run promised will be taken away. I think this is something only those on the snow-starved south coast really understand!! Good luck all of you (and me!!) and hope we all get that foot deep fall!!

I had snow until this afternoon, now it’s rain lol snow was only for a 3 hour period, rest was sleet but still! Perhaps they’ve got a heart and are managing our expectations :nea:

Ah I see. Crushes the spirit when one minute you see snow on the app and the next minute it turns to rain.
