Shower activity in Devon and Cornwall has almost all dried up. Fear we are out the game for today. Good luck folks!

Shift S from WRF-NMM 0.05* model for Sun-Mon. Result is... eyebrow-raising to say the least.

Sorry, I've gone and raised the bar too high now haven't I? Don't shoot the messenger!

I don't for the life of me, understand why a wind warning has been issued? 40mph is forecast here for 3 hours, yet Wednesday night and in to Thursday, 40 to 48mph was forecast for  around 10 hours, and a warning wasn't issued - and didn't need one.

I think you'll need the intensity to pick up. The one in the pic above might do the trick if you get a direct hit.

Wetbulbs too high for snow even if a shower makes it here. The best you can hope for is some sleet/wet snow mixed unless you're at a decent elevation.

Was just leaving work in Totton when a rain shower came over. Just got home in town and there is a light dusting on the cars, so appears it snowed briefly imby and I still missed it!  :wallbash:

Need to put up the outside xmas lights.  Will two thirds up the ladder do?

Surely the South Coast can see something. It's even currently snowing at my mates place in Houston, Texas.

Is the wetbulb level set to drop in the next 12 hours?

Yeah - they'll continue to lower through the day and overnight.

Of course, the WBFL will be dragged lower during heavier showers. We'll have to hope that shower activity continues.

Are you sure, the wind's not that strong so I'd expect most Xmas lights to be okay.

:reindeer-emoji:

Okay, that didn't quite work but whatever, at least I'm trying .

Showers struggling to get much past the Bristol Channel at the moment, but some heavier ones are now over S. Wales and as the 850's also drop, this may further increase vertical instability to aid shower penetration inland.

My vertical instability will decrease as this evening goes on!! :drunk-emoji:

A good example of WBFL being pulled down in heavier precip.. despite the NetWx radar saying otherwise (due to what the NMM charts project)

My sister says she can see flakes falling in Bournemouth.

Blimey, didn't work here earlier despite rain rates of 10 mm/hr - shows how much the WBs are coming down in general as well.
