just to add as it was clumsily posted.....it's the 850hpa/500hpa boundaries (the level in the atmosphere where those boundaries lie, they are not a fixed point in altitude)

These coldish charts that keep being suggested by differing models seem to be feeding through BBC/UKMO weather apps. Suggesting sleet/Snow Princetown Monday Wednesday and Thursday next week. Yes it's moorland 400 metres and all but shows cold weather is not leaving this part of the world just yet.

Looks like a streamer on those charts. It'll definitely snow here according to the local weather forecast which means it'll rain.

So hard to nail down these snow showers for Friday and Saturday. MO app changes it' mind like the wind for suggesting snow here. Sunday my hunch this morning is still a chance for Bristol Wiltshire south glos think the rest of us will just miss out.

Light snow showers look interesting but I can't help but be transfixed by that low Sunday now that would Warrent a sledge if it came just 50 miles south... :friends:

Still 3 days for things to move about. Does the met office follow ECMs chart then?

We need corrections south on the 06z and a big one. Time running out, as well as my patience in that thread. Literally every post is snow :nonono:

You can understand peoples excitement, but it should be left to the regional threads.

For us down here, looks like we will be feeding of the scraps again. Fingers & toes crossed for everyone, hopefully a few surprises pop up.

Yes of course I can understand the excitement, but as you say should be reserved for regionals, that’s where I would be if it were a snow event for down here.

Its bloody hard work when every single post is snow snow snow imby how much?

I've probably just woken up on the wrong side of the bed!

No, you haven't woken up on the wrong side, you are correct, but managing the thread must be hard work, when it hits frenzy overload everytime there's a snowflake chance. Sunday fix sorted!

Morning! I’m hoping that Sunday’s low will do to them what one did to us in 2013.... :diablo:

Not that I’m bitter of course..

Breezy here overnight and this morning. 12-18mph and a few 30mph gusts between 3-5am.
Certainly not any of the 40-45mph that Beeb and Met Office have had on their forecasts for a few days and still do.

9.4c at midnight and 11.4c now
1.4mm of rain  around midnight and 2am.
1008.6 hPa and falling, 12-14mph SSW

Not looking like much snow or even any wintery showers here this weekend :(
