Great description of Dorset snow chances and very accurate! I grew up in Poole and was so frustrated with snow prospects, Shaftesbury is a good spot for it. Although the charts are looking good even for Poole in the coming weeks :)

Netweather gives me a 29% chance of snow between 3 and 6am tonight. That was a surprise! What with lamppost watching and the Ashes I shall probably be good for nothing tomorrow:oops:

29%! Given it's currently 11C AND the wind is in from the SW, an awful lot has to change to meet those predictions, surely?

Lol, I don't believe it for a second! But the anticipation is half the fun

There are occasions when I wouldn’t agree with that. Days on end of cloudy nothingness aren’t that inspiring.

Welcome back! For the Winter? :)

Thank you. Not back yet, just dipping in for now - SO busy, no time for snow chasing yet. Someone mentioned the chance of snow at the weekend, not believing it for one second I thought I'd check where I know folk will have spotted any chance. Doing this at the weekend, flurries really would be the icing on the cake....

Thank you, all's well this end, just really, really busy. Enjoy Belgium. Here's hoping we get a series of mega battleground dumpings this year :-)

The Purbeck snow dome usually deflects any white fluffy stuff from around here :nonono:

but I’m massive gullible type, and like a beer, so will sit up all night staring at the lamp post

I think we can say that chances are as high as they have been for a few years for us to get some wintry action across our region. Sleep may well become an issue

Been out last few days so wasn't able to post.

Highest gust we had on Wednesday was 36.1mph in the evening. Most gusts during the day were between 25-32mph.

So it was a typical windy day but I was expecting more with inland 40-60mph gusts forecast.

Rain wasn't to much of a problem either. Just light bits throughout the day and moderate bursts in the evening which were short-lived.

Cloudy for most of the day after a dry night but the skies cleared in the last hour to leave a sunny and cold end to the afternoon. 8.0°C.

Yep, I don't think Ill bother watching my lamppost, especially now as its been replaced with a damn awful LED unit that completely screws up the ability to watch even the rain falling.

And so the temperature slides away, currently 3.2°C...

Seeing some high cloud rolling in, that could well hold off the temperature drop

Down to 3.2°C here as well. Hoping for a sub-zero min by tomorrow morning. I'm well behind compared to last year!
