Very mild in Stroud, bit breezy. It’s nearly 10am, feels like an August morning at sunrise with heat and storms coming.. And to think there could easily be a frost at this point in October!

It's dead calm here with a yellowish green hue to the sky. Also very dark. Eerie. 18c.

Yes it really is the strangest colour I have ever seen and so dark the street lights came on.

I am assuming the orangey sun is due to Saharan sand / dust which I read last week might be pulled up by Ophelia.

The earlier sharp showers have left a sandy dusty residue everywhere.

Loving the yellow/orange light at the moment, very strange!

What a bizarre sky, it's as dark as dusk here with a yellow hue.  It reminds me of the sky when we had the eclipse back in 1999.  Don't like it!!

yes remarkable skies Andy, orange skies with a red sun here....looks remarkably like a major plume destabilization event that you'd see in high summer........I'm thinking is this the CDO remnants?..The wind is really picking up here with sporadic showers and feeling warm

It's gone like an eclipse now AJ with low cloud racing SW to NE beneath the 'dust' so no sun visible now , a yellowy orange glow and like twilight.

Very bizarre light here today. Like others have said, a green / yellow hue and very dusklike. Humid feeling wind blowing. It feels a bit like the Apocalypse!

Where's the sunshine at? I've got the house lights on as it's so dark.

Yellow skies here too ! At least we have something to talk about if we are to miss out on Ophelia passing through our area.

Just about got a picture of the sun. Cloudier now which is making it seem dark.

are they firing on Salisbury Plain today?......I know it's not thunder but sounds like it....with the eerie sky and distant booming, it really does look like the end of the world is coming!

Hi ajpoolshark yes sounds like they are out on the firing ranges and some tanks rumbling around as well.

Doesn’t do it justice how dark it actually is.
