That must be the cold front as it's exactly what happened here last Thursday morning.

As per Jtay's above post there are some interesting mid to high level clouds, virga and varying altocumulus types, but on the whole still clear, sunny and hot although with a lovely SE breeze.

England T20 on 5 Live extra Andy. Just in case you've missed it.

As Summer evenings go, this ain't at all bad.

Already down to 18.8°C this evening. Took until after midnight to get that low last night.

Not sure if you can make it out but can anyone shed any light on the arrow shaped clouds just above the setting sun please. Very interesting sky this evening 20170621_204056.thumb.jpg.f1d197539f770e5020a5ad53e6c062a8.jpg

according to my sensor it's 22 outside but 28 indoors still. Rollon the breakdown

I thought 26 inside last night was bad...

Only 24 inside at the moment.

Oh it feels cooler this morning. Lovely. And according to the radar it looks like Hungerford is the only place in the the SW and central and maybe the whole south east having a little shower... ( oh maybe a tiny sprinkle over a house in Bristol too)

Interesting change this morning, to overcast, and did feel the odd spot of drizzle whilst standing outside, and notice a couple of time on the commute to pick up some drizzle on the windscreen. Currently 18.0°C outside and 26.0°C inside.(Wife wont leave the windows open at night because of crawlies!!)

Much fresher this morning with a layer of Sc. temp 15C and westerly zephyr. Worth a look at the Camborne 00z sounding. We still have the very warm airmass over us but definitely the cooler air is in place in the boundary layer. 850mb temp 19.0C and surface 16.4C with a 10C inversion. It's not obvious what the surface details are but I'm assuming the influence of a trough plays a major part.

Oh hello.. just heard a rumble and sure enough.. what a difference an hour ab half makes. From that small shower over hungerford to a few cells sprouting up all over the south central ... what's that expression? Large oak trees from small acorns grow hey?

Mostly cloudy today but when the sun breaks through it's still quite warm although nowhere near as warm as the last few days. 19.8°C.

The house has freshened up well today, despite trying everything we couldn't get our baby's room below 28c at his bedtime but he has coped well. His room is at 23c now and the lounge at a respectable 24c while outside is a full 10.6c lower than 24 hours ago! Still it's a very pleasant typically British (rather than Mediterreanean) summer day.~

I am loving the fresh Westerly breeze but I'm sure the other half will moan she's cold lol.
