Thatcham weather station currently at 30.7 degrees. Yes probably not one of the official stations, but good enough for me... (the station, not the temp - only time I like coming to work ...  -  the air conditioning. ha ha.

Our nearest official station, Reading University, has reached 32.0 now, and plenty of unofficial stations around Reading are showing 33+. The town centre is usually slightly warmer than the university so 33C here is probably not far wrong.

OH got sent home from work at lunchtime due to a burst water main.  We've just had a White Chocolate Magnum to celebrate.

Scorchio...

32.7c here, me and my 10 month old boy are melting!

Steve B ; someone in model thread was bemoaning the lack of an official station in North Somerset due to a model predicting the highest temps there, your unofficial reading is the highest so far that I have seen!

Got to 26.7c at  11am and then dropped over midday and has flatlined at 24c since.

Think the SE wind picking up around midday to 9-12mph has not helped.

Completely different feel here now. Pleasant and the temperatures dropped to 22.6°C.

It's peaked at 32.5c here (for now!)and dew point has dropped below 19c. A decent breeze in the gusts may have helped.  Still virtually clear skies here apart from contrails.

Decided washing the car was a good way to cool down!

Just reached 33.1 on my weather station here and I can believe it!

Gutted we're not going to get the thundery break down. Would have been epic I think.

An interesting little clump forming just off the Brest peninsula. While it seemingly is moving west to east, could be interesting to keep an eye on if anything forms to its north ahead of the trough out west. Of course something may equally form to its south, but frankly my dears, we don't give a damn....

This looked like it was bubbling up out west on Sat24, but nothing doing I'm afraid...

It's cooling things down a treat though.

Interesting. What appears to be a bank of St is rapidly drifting in from the SW and blotting out the sun

That must be the cold front as it's exactly what happened here last Thursday morning.

As per Jtay's above post there are some interesting mid to high level clouds, virga and varying altocumulus types, but on the whole still clear, sunny and hot although with a lovely SE breeze.

Some sea fog has been reported presumably on the south coast.
