Hi everyone. Just thought I'd throw a quick question out there if I may.

With the Arpege model predicting high temps in my area (Bristol) for the next couple of days, I was wondering if there was an official weather station in urban Bristol? Filton is the closest one that I'm aware of but it's annoying central Bristol doesn't seem to have one and all the other major cities have.

Thanks in advance!

Well my probably-a-bit-inaccurate garden thermometer hit 30c around 4pm, reading 29c now. Working outside today, early finish! UV index for most of our region was 8 today apparently, which is the highest this country can get (according to weatheronline). Wonder what tomorrow holds temp wise, looks like Somerset/Bristol/Glos look the hottest, not just in our region either..

Hot hot hot! The sky is hazier today. Looks like we'll go past the 30c mark.

Chance of a TStorm later today.

Near Winchester at the moment and it really feels hot here. Probably slightly cooler back at home.

Presently 29.1°C at: 12:28. Chasing Mapantz again with his 29.8°C at: 12:35

I have been stuck at 29.8°C for over 30 minutes now. Interestingly, RH has tumbled to 37%

31.6°C a few minutes ago, a gentle breeze, but not enough to make any difference.

In reply to MPR from yesterday, 1st July 2015 actually didn't get higher than 33.0c so my memory was wrong.

31.8c tops yesterday and currently 31.3c and rising.

Time to be creative to provide shade in the garden.

Melting here!

been blue skies from 8am

Just pipped over 32 in the more exposed front garden; reading just over 33.5 (in fairly deep shade) in the back garden!!!

I do live in a low lying area just near the edge of salisbury and my back garden (bar shade at the end)  is a sheltered south facing sun trap and often is a few degrees above the front (I've switched the thermometers back and forth before it still reads the same difference) so not surprised I'm once again getting a degree or two above the official temps in the back garden... But really quite surprised it's reading a couple over 30 out the front!

Anyway; Certainly seems a bit hotter again here today, Feels fairly humid too. Can see a few larger clouds bubbling up in the distance to the north west too... Someone get prodding that cap!!!

Checking on wundermap for weather stations in the Worle area and I've found a few with temp readings between 32-33c, one station has 35c but 32-33c I can so believe as it's very hot out there! 2 weather stations nearer to town and the sea front are reading 28c, possibly due to the sea breeze which would effect the town area and right on the coast but probably has no effect on temps a few miles inland from the coast.

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
