Could be a decent show off the coast soon if it keeps moving the right way.

It's very slow moving across the channel on the netweather radar ... but looks very exciting !

I do hope you see some storms tonight Matt 111

That will produce some large rain totals for a lucky few. As I mentioned in the convective thread, some stations in France have recorded 40mm+ in under an hour. :)

Funnily enough Mapantz I had just read your post .

The weather and Mother Nature will do whatever she sees fit ! But it's exciting looking , and trying to work it all out .

Cloud building again in clumps of grey , very slight breeze picking up . Weird atmosphere too . 18 C

looking at radar again , front edge coming west of Bridport . Interesting !

Anyone know where you can find a map showing the boundary of the plume to the south of us?

We've been forecast heavy rain overnight all day today and yesterday- just looked now and it's gone?? Not showing anything at all now! I would have thought we would have got something here (poole) with that storm in northern France?

The storm coming into Lyme Bay looks like it died? Everything going to the right again!

By saying right do you mean East? I'm currently sat in my back garden looking S/SE in hope to see something tonight as I slept through Fridays storm!! I even had my phone alarm set and still didn't wake!!!

Looking at all the radars, I can't see us getting anything tonight! It all looks to be heading too far East and heading straight for London from France.

Thank you for sharing . What a great picture . The mass of cloud is into the south west . Lots of people have been doubting whether we would get any rain even but I think we might looking at that . The wind direction is ENE .

Well I thought it would rain...ignore the apps it just had a very heavy downpour here!! Poor hubby is camping in wareham this weekend- got soaked in the thunderstorm Friday. Not sure if he'll avoid rain tonight!

Are we thinking any storms around here will just pop up with no warning? Blitzortung app not showing anything heading this way

Big drops of rain now. I'll be happy with a good soaking, Saturday morning's light show has kept me happy enough.

The stillness has been replaced with a fresh light breeze. Big raindrops but not a lot else going on yet. Stepped on a slug.

Edit- flash of lightning to my S and a long rumble heard.

Lightning seen, thunder heard. Twice in two days, not bad for so early in the season? It's not as if we have had a heatwave either, that's what has been the surprise.

Indeed. I wasn't expecting anything much here bar rain tonight as the main flow seemed to be too far east, but there's steady flashes and rumbles to my S not appearing on the radar (Blitzortung keeps crashing my phone so I can't refer to it).

I'm guessing Portsmouth or maybe IOW must be having a semi-decent time.
