Hmmm..... as in HIGHlands, not as in 'the Highlands', possibly.

Seems to be snowing at sea level in Inverness? Bit of a wintry mix though!

Yeah we got a wintry mix here too at 1.5C. Pretty to look at but no use for anything apart from chilling beer. :whistling:

no more snow falling here but still got cover from last week so that's 7 days with snow cover and counting Tuesdays very slight thaw froze solid into Wednesday morning turning the entire 1 mile lane to the main road from my house into one massive polished skating rink. used the local farmer tractor to smash it all up so we can now get out and about, Met Office 30 day update is stonking, something is definitely stirring .. glad to see so many more of you guys and girls have seen some snow fall as well, may it continue.

Some more organised showers heading SE looking like heading over the Glasgow, north Lanarkshire area and possibly south Lanarkshire

Just back into Perth and very little sign of any snow. Poor show. Away to look at the MO 30 day now....

Heavy rain here for the past 15 minutes - people above 100 to 150 meters must be getting a very heavy snowfall at the minute! Lucky buggers. ⛄️

You’ll be getting sick of it soon, and then you’ll want to head back sarff. :drunk-emoji::spiteful:

Where I live we've had mostly sleet just a mile up the road though looked as if there was fairly decent snow (I know it was hovering at 0 and still snowing at about 11 this morning there) going to be fun walking about that shopping centre with ungritted paths and late christmas shoppers

Here's some radar images to prove the theory of the snow shield!

Thin band of light snow approaching from the west:

Still snow:

"Here lads - doesn't 101_North live out this direction?"

Just took me 15 mins to get the ST into the driveway.... on level ground!!! Literally half an inch of slush has frozen here to create an ice road and ice pavement for accompaniment.

Doesnt help that the ST is like bambi on ice but still!

Everything falling from the sky in Glasgow today has been rain. Suburban folk were regaling us all about polar bears and glaciers out in those parts today, but just cold rain for us in the city.

Yeah it's a bit sleety now and melting but it started off with lovely big fluffy flakes falling onto icy pavements and roads so started to lie really quickly.

Be lethal once this freezes over! Was bad enough anyway!

Looking a little closer to a change back to a cold northerly just before Christmas. One to keep an eye on!

Despite the ground being frozen and the road being like an ice rink, it's another dose of heavy rain here, which is just freezing and adding a further layer of ice to the road.

Sure will, tomorrow's commute is going to be treacherous.

Starting to get interesting on the model front again !

Surely we deserve biting east north  easterlies with deeply cold uppers.?

It must be our turn, It's been too long. ?
