Charts like this:

prectypeuktopo.png

and Met Office forecasts that say "Longer clear spells in the East with more isolated snow showers" don't fill me with much enthusiasm :wallbash:

Euro4 not offering a huge amount of comfort either LOL

Glasgow airport diverting all flights to prestwick runway like an ice rink

u know it’s always bloody annoyed me how it can be this cold and RAIN ....... it can rain for days but when snow forecast somewhere  it never hits us and just RAINS again

Defo something in that aggy, i watch with amazement when snow forecast it seems to literally disipate as soon as it hits just west of me or the clouds split. Some goes north, the rest goes south. I haven't seen one flake, not one in this whole washout. Mind you i'm glad, i don't like cold really for too long, at least a bit of snow makes it worthwhile.

Looks good for the West later. Compare and contrast to the East :wallbash:

I live on the Ayrshire coast so u can litterally see it split every time . I’m used to it but do like to moan about it .  It’s almost like your due the rewards for enduring the cold but naw have some freezing rain and black ice ?

Gloomy, cold and wet this morning. Struggling to find the will to live open the curtains. Maybe tomorrow.

Listening to BBC Breakfast presenters attempting to sing leaves me struggling to find the will to live.

I'd rather have sleety pish (c) 101_North than listen to that.

Pretty much all of them tbh.  Especially the sports dude.

He's the guy at the party who stands in the corner and nods his head all night....

What absolute twaddle from today's Edinburgh Evening News:

https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/our-region/edinburgh/white-christmas-predicted-for-edinburgh-1-4638460

"If you put £5 on at the bookies for it to snow in Edinburgh on Christmas day, you would get a mere £5 back profit for your troubles. The city is among the favourites across the UK to have snowfall on the most magical day of the year, with the city hopefully not just waking up to presents left by Santa – but up to 10cm of snow according to the Met Office."

Not saying it won't show on Christmas day but I cannot find a single chart, quote or forecast to support this article at this minute in time!

Started off thawing this morning but as skies cleared around middday the puddles started to ice over. Lots of wintry showers on the horizon to the west and north and currently1.5c.

Even if it warms up next week and there is no more snow this winter we at least  up here have had a proper wintry spell and can say we have had a winter.Very slippery  out there now with frozen snow.

Catch, either that snow will fall on the southern borders, or maybe from East Lothian down to Berwick...  or else it will fall on the Edinburgh/Livingston/Glasgow central corridor. Either way guess who will be sat here in the middle chewing cushions...
