Seems Glasgow Airport was -5 at about 9am this morning -EDIT still the same now. Chilly stuff. I do recall -7 or so in Glasgow without snow in 2008/9 winter so not unheard of. Of course, nothing like the morning where it was about -18 right through til lunchtime during the 2010 cold spell. That had plentiful snow mind....

Chilly walk into the centre of Glasgow earlier. Proper hat, scarf and gloves stuff. The way winter should be.

Also, Sleep in the Park was on in Edinburgh last night too, coincided with the coldest night of the year. Hat off to everyone who took part.

Been at -4C for the last couple of hours, mostly clear sky with a few sparkles drifting down. Apparently it was colder in Sneckie which wouldn't surprise me...

Snow flurries in Glasgow City Centre. Very festive morning for the Santa Dashers.

Correction - reading was from Edinburgh Gogarbank which is midway between me and the airport. My app hadn't updated correctly - temp is actually around -4.5c now.

Chilly with no snow here this morning. Cats ran out jumped feet, turned tail and ran straight back in again.

-6C here. I'm guessing it dropped pretty low during the night!

I've a forlorn hope that wee blob that's just made landfall near the border might head my way.

Beautiful crisp, clear day here. Highest temp over Friday and Saturday was 2.4c on both days. Lowest was early hours of this morning, down to -3.6c. been a long time since it was that cold. currently at 0.7c and not looking as if it'll go much higher. Just a few flurries of snow yesterday, what's lying measures about an inch. Wowsers. Not. :cold::shok:

-7 this morning, cold but nothing too exceptional. Quite a lot of light snow and cloud cover through the night so temps only really fell away at around 5 to 6am.

Loads of big icicles now though, always the sign of a decent spell!

Tyres ! first time I've seen the difference the right tyres make.

Nokian Weatherproofs a 4 season tyre from Finland. Daughters taxi can't get them to work yesterday morning comes to a halt 1 mile from work on a big hill. I live about a mile away, gets the the call drives up the hill stops where their taxi had abandoned them, pick them up and proceed to drive up the hill no fuss no drama, no wheel spin. Ordinary FWD car utterly transformed by tyres.

I've got the same and keep them on all year, 20k miles down and still going strong! (although a lot of motorway miles)  Used them in the deep snow in ungritted County Durham the other week with no issues either :D

Really really wanted a snow day today only thing that would help cure the horrendous hangover I’m suffering ?

Only thing worse is if it snows then rains & melts that's a snow hangover!

I doubt we've got above -3C today, can't tell exactly as my weather station got the sun, but even then was only reading around 2C. Currently back down to -5.3, but forecast is for it to start warming up rather than cooling down.

No snow but a pretty sunset by way of compensation!

Back down to -5c. Lovely frosty, still evening! Today was my first ice day for a while too with a max of around -2c.

Edit: -6c and dropping.

Hit -8.4. Now -8.3 so maybe that's the turn back up.

Looking to the NW/North atm, there's a feature heading south that's looking more significant on the radar than forecasts have suggested...

Lots of snow for North Lewis over the weekend. About 6inches in depth.. deeper in drifts. The locals are saying most snow since 2010...

Come back to us when that poly-tunnel is an igloo. :girl_devil:

Nice pictures though, and unusual from Lewis.

Lets hope so, we could do with a wee top up. Warming up here, now only -3.4C, if it keeps going we might hit the high for today yet.
