A bit of a non-event here so far... a couple of cms on the hill but just an icing sugar dusting in town.  Ive got my fingers crossed for more later, but have read conflicting reports that the heaviest activty should have been overnight, so feeling a little down right about now, but we'll just have to see :)

Tim

Sure there's advice that showers this evening are forecast to merge into a longer spell.

I'll keep my fingers crossed then, for myself and anyone else who is still missing out on the fun!

By the way is anyone else finding the netweather rain radar charts are stuck at 6.15?

Yes.

If you switch to ppn type it clears the error.  All a bit odd.

Aye very good, just a pity it's 12 hours too late! I've had countless messages from friends saying they're stuck in gridlocked roads, shocking motorway conditions, I've had a few photos sent of cars off the road, one on its side (all from around this area, maybe 3 mile radius). It's an absolute shocker. I mentioned about an amber warning the other day and in the Model Thread and I honestly cannot fathom as to how else they expected this to pan out. It was clearly not the bog standard typical polar westerly. Warnings for tonight will be too late, people are already stuck on the roads, stuck at work etc and many won't get home from work either. Really really poor!!

About an inch of snaw overnight and settling readily from around midnight onwards - a good start. Regular top-ups from the heavy showers birling though.

Roads not clever this morning and not helped by ****trumpets who don't moderate their speed in the midst of the temporary whiteoots. Total nuggets.

Temperature currently -0.2C/-1C and the snaw's back on.

Braw!
