About 1/2" here but that shower was heavy although it didn't last long.   Hopeful for later though.

This is the warm up for later, the real damage should come between 6pm and midnight especially for the west. @Ruzzi, if the Euro4 is right expect about 10 inches of snow between now and midnight tomorrow...

Can you make out what's happening with the track of the low? I'm not seeing much in the way of wind or ppn through tomorrow night...

About 4cm here, good start and it looks like showers should pick up even more later on today and evening :)

Morning all!

Great to see so many pictures and happy people! Sorry for the folk who have not had any yet.

Absolutely knackered! Woke up just after 3am with a blustery wind - looked out and one of the heaviest snow showers I have ever seen was taking place! Lasted a good twenty five minutes - was a total whiteout. :snowman-emoji:

They have been on and off here ever since - about to be plastered again shortly.

Looks amazing for the rest of today and even Wednesday night/Thursday morning has upgraded to heavy snow on the Metoffice website for lots of people including myself!

What a time to be alive! :D

Hmm, don’t throw in the towel just yet, Aggy, coldest air not quite with us yet and hopefully that’s enough to turn showers to snow even for your coastal location.

Nothing to report from Broughty Ferry, showers have not made it this far (yet? :D)

Aww thanks love your optimism however I think it’s just going to be a rain fest here maby the odd sleet shower . I’m used to it ?

Motherwell town centre. A rare site.

Just down from the Cathedral?  Wasn't that bad at all on the way to work, my wee boy was most disappointed that he had to go to school (Muir Street).  Told him might be different tomorrow though.........

Bright clear morning so far here, after a frosty night. Temp 0C and a light WSW breeze.  Some ominous clouds gathering out to the west - we'll see.

For my neck of the woods, according to the rain radar, the snow showers appear to be petering out east of a line approx. Aboyne - Blairgowrie.

Just slushy in Glasgow. Unless the temps drop and/or we get a really heavy fall then the way it looks/feels it could snow all day without it making no much difference.

Ok that's enough of that ??

currently 4 inches I would estimate here, wee drift starting to gather some pace against the fence, I want it at least half way up the fence by the end of the day ?

An impressive fall rate when these heavy showers land, got a hefty top up until about 30 mins ago, starting up again just now

Try my best to keep a wee feed area clear the birds/red squirrels and they were over in no time, taking advantage of the lull. -2cIMG_6497.thumb.JPG.e1823b8f28b9214034422fe5a549f4a1.JPG

Through today even colder air comes in.. showers packing in more.

What is also apparent later in the evening is a wee kink in the isobars suggesting an area of organised snowfall rather than showers could be some very good depths.

Spitting feathers here! Not one drop of snow, just some hail showers during the night. :nonono::wallbash: Not a happy bunny! Absolutely Baltic out, so a day for feeding the stove and looking at everyone's snow piccies!

From my run to work it is very much a high ground event here in the west. Green fields at low levels and a sleety mix. Heavy snow in the higher parts of Inverclyde.

Bursts of snow came on about an hour ago and we now have a covering at 0c. Will  fairly drift about if we get any depth in the fresh wind.

Just a skiff over this side of town. Looks like wind is slightly further North than forecast so hills coming into play with showers petering out as they come out of Highland Perthshire.
