Got a solid covering here now, looks like there may be the odd sporadic shower during the night aswell which will only add to it but seems that some more persistent showers will sink southwards by early morning ish

Weather can't make its mind up here. 4C+ earlier with rain turning the lying snow into a wet slushy mess. Now it's - 4. 5C so it'll be back to the skating rink pronto. 

Looking good though for at least some of the lying snow to make it to the one week point on Friday. Not bad going to have it lying that long so early in winter.

Morning all,

I see GFS is throwing up a long fetch SEly post-Christmas. I hope that idea disappears quickly or else those of us on the east coast will need counselling.....unless day after day of dreary overcast skies and 3/4c by day and night are your thing (in which case you probably need counselling anyway). :D

Snowing here this morning with a thin covering left from last night. Quite wet snow though, possibly a bit of a rain, snow mix. 

Edit might be more rain than snow now, definitely a moist look about it.

Same here! Temp currently 1.1c and falling. Snow symbol on weather station......lying wee toerag!

We got the thinnest imaginable extra from last night's extravaganza but it's sat at -1C since about 11 last night.

I'm at work in Scone and we have snow! Yes snow. Temp dropped by 1c and its settling. So happy to see - hope my littlest in nursery is getting to watch!

Finally!!! My patience has paid off and we have quite heavy snow here and its settling, at least on the hill :)

I know it won't last, but I'm happy that at least the winter won't be entirely snowless ;)  Now... if this is just a warm up, then I'll be well happy!

Finally! Barely a wet 1cm but I'm taking it :) I just walked home through Glenrothes, which was by far the iciest walk I have done in years. More so than in the hills! A & E will be busy today I imagine.

Snow here in Dumfries overnight.
