Not that windy here overnight either, oddly. 45mph top gust. Pushed up over 11C in the early hours but down to 4.7C now and looks likely to stay dry for the next few days......annoyingly! Happy for my snow-starved family in the English Midlands, though. Some of them haven't seen a snowflake for nearly five years!

this hour and midday look to be peak for Fife, low was slightly further north

Nothing to phone home about just yet in Shetland. Bit of a breeze, temperature around 6'

Don't think it will be long before we see things changing.

There seems to be a large area of cloud heading our way this afternoon. Anybody know if this will be rain or snow?

Rain for now, looks to be a different story by the end of today, shame no radar

3.5C to 4C now and still really blustery. Is the temp dropping quicker than expected? Also the radar seems to be more 'animated' than the ppn feels here.

@Jo Farrow - what do you mean, 'shame no radar'?

5c now here and wind gusting around 65mph, lots of sleet showers barreling in now and 2 trampolines spotted heading towards the cliff...............better than the telly:D

Yo Hairy Celt

There is no Radar coverage over Shetland, so its a bit of a guessing game.

I've often wondered what its like having Radar.

Generally I keep a close eye on the visual Satellite, quite a bit can be gauged from that. Cloud cover and its mass can reveal potential precipitation, but in this kind of situation, the precipitation type is impossible.

Looks like GFS is continuing it's theme of moving Sunday's low north or south every 6hrs :D

No idea how Arpège usually performs but it has the low much further south.

In a nutshell - no one has a mongooseing clue what might happen on Sunday :D

Met Office has added a yellow warning for snow in NI, Wales, much of Northern England/Midlands on Sunday, with only a small bit of SW Scotland included, so seem to be going with the more southerly track. Still time for change of course, and hopefully some more snow chances over the following few days.

Temperature has dropped from 8c at 8am and is now down to 3c first wintry stuff just coming through and wind has really picked up again..

Meant to ask if you have settled in after your move MS?   Not regretting it I hope?

Been a lot of waxing and waning with this system down here.   One minute  you can almost call it calm and the next it is blowing a gale.   Temps moving downwards now though sitting at 4.6c/2.1/-1.3 windchill.

If this forecast verifies they will need to extend the warning a wee bit

Just finished putting up the permenant electric fence in the neep field for the winter in blustery conditions with showers rattling in off the Firth and becoming and looking more wintry as time went on. Its now a quick job to give the cows a fresh row of neeps every day. Currently 3c.

Temp heading south and now down to 3.1 (1.8 at home) - sky to the north is pitch black.

Some current netatmo temps for Scotland, dosnt look cold enough for snow anywhere! tbf most of these things arn't calibrated correctly

Well maybe Inverness but certainly not Aberdeen! Weird
