It was 2C at 8 this morning but no frost. Temp rose steadily as I went down towards Spean Bridge. A rather muggy 9C in Drum by late afternoon. Some cold snap!

Very mild here at 16.3'C!

Wonder if the old wives' tale warm Halloween cold winter has anything to it? Let's hope so! :cold:

Normal service resumed today with perssississtent rain till early afternoon. Yummy. Not really seeing anything wintry approaching either. No surprise there seeing as there's f all arctic sea ice left.

A very mild day yesterday and another mild night with an overnight low of 10.6c that has now risen to 12.3c. looks like a cool down toward the weekend is on the cards, nothing cold looking at current output just standard Autumn weather. Mrs Snow has probably jinxed winter anyways, she has just been a purchased snow boots for the kids. winters over lol.

Have to say, Catch, the sound of geese flying overhead is one of the few winter positives for me.:)

Except (from experience) when you've just finished washing the car!:good:

That's the super duperehawks round here.  Ooh, nice birds, say the tourists, who feed them chips. Idiots.

It rained again today. Drizzle, then a shower or two, then some heavy stuff.

A 'good sign' of what though, PM? I had a flock of waxwings (2009 in Inverness)...although it was snowing at the time, there was sod-all came down afterwards...?:cc_confused::laugh:

Another fine day ,like yesterday a bit on the mild side when rolling out straw for inside cattle.Much cooler tonight at 7c and it seems its going to stay a bit cooler from now on much better for working in.  A bit dryer too now after all the harvest rain so hope it continues. Cattle and wintering sheep have done very well on lots of autumn grass growth so much so that as we bring the cows into calve they are put on a slimming diet to aid calving

Or grebes.

Winter is a great season for observing water birds.

7C here at the mo, but feels chillier. Slight breeze from the NW and cloud encroaching.

If weather holds, I'll probably have a walk later today at NNR St Cyrus, armed with bins and camera.

Pleasant autumnal morning - very little wind, quite bright, no rain. Still quite a lot of trees have a good lot of colourful leaves.

Frosty on my arrival home from work today for the first time this season so I thought I'd mosey back in here. First actual morning frost was September, coldest temp so far was Monday morn at -4c. "Summer" was eh... Scottish, lots of rain, absolute highlight was sighting a wildcat near Boleskine. Used to see them at least once or twice a year but it had been a good 6yrs since the last sighting. So a welcomed sight indeed

Anyhoo, hope everyone is well, mon the snow and all that..

Very frosty sunset after a fine  sunny afternoon and sure enough the temperature has fallen to 4c currently so  a frosty night seems to be coming.

5C and falling. Big bright moon rose over the firth at teatime, always worth watching the shimmering in the water when the wind's light.

Looking at MWIS for the weekend - tempted to head for the hills...
