The next band of cloud's going through and it's the same as most of the day weakening the showers as it crosses us

We've had cool grey and drizzle for most of the day, then this afternoon it cleared up and the sun came out for a short time. It was very very hot while it lasted, now gone again and I've got that horrible itchy feeling inside my skull that means thunder & lightning is around somewhere..

Very humid now looks as though it will go bang later with  lightning on the radar to the west heading towards us. Currently 22c

A bit of rain on now but I  think most of it is going to pass us by.

22C/18C now but no sign of any thunderous action here.

Nah, dog biscuits here too apart from a brief burst of heavy rain. Oban and environs is copping it and that's about it. Banff & Buchan etc is just getting heavy showers - punishment for voting t***.

A short time ago, on way home from Montrose, Temp 14C, sky black as sin and a couple of heavy rain showers.

Seems to be in the same situation as monday been quite warm at times but all of a sudden got noticeably cooler (and unlike today the heat won't be rebounding back in anytime soon)

Few rumbles, some rain and a couple of visible flashes. Nothing too dramatic yet.

Viewing storm just off east coast of Scotland from Beadnell, Northumberland  - continuous fork lightning for last twenty minutes- still going - never seen anything like it before

Storm just got going out in the North Sea off North Yorks coast just to rub it in ☹

I was just rubbing some Ibuprofen gel in, probably minimal impact even a couple of millimetres below the surface. Unlike that storm.

That was disappointing yesterday.  The storm free zone we seem to have here kept strong.  Still not been a really good storm for over 10 years since the epic one of early May 2006. We've had thunder, a little lightning over the years, but not a really good storm.

You should go somewhere hot and humid and mountainous... we rarely get more than two out of three in Scotland. (yes, the mountains disappear just when they're needed)

I would heartily recommend the north of Italy. It is one of the most thundery places in Europe with stunning scenery and fabulous food. I am going in nine weeks, assuming my passport gets here in time.

or the adjacent part of France... question is, will you ever come back?  i know that the next time i bugger off to France, it'll take more than grey skies and a mongooseed up governance to bring me back.

Erm, back on topic, and guess what, the weather's doing nothing. warm, grey, calm, dry, unlikely to rain soon.... :lazy:

Yep, same here, an 'orrible grey 15C, but dry.

Not liking the medium term outlook either for heat or interest, as it seems to have neither.

Blissful without the heat and humidity (and the storms that didn't happen yesterday) ;) Not looking like a warm up anytime soon either
