Can't shift the cloud here still. Thought it was going to last night but quickly clouded in again. IF the skies clear likely it be a belter but at the moment that ain't happening

Shiver me timbers we actually have some sun. Still breezy so cooling it down a bit but don't think it be too shabby at all this afternoon

Not to be smug but plenty of sunshine here. Walking the coastal path from Arbroath to Broughty Ferry. Glad I've suncream on. About 22c.

With due apologies, HC!

Lovely day down here, just hit 23c but doesn't feel oppressive as there is a breeze. Hot in town where there's no wind.

Wall to wall sunshine, about time!

Frustrating day. About 3 or so the cloud broke and was lovely for a couple of hours but the cloud has crept back in again. Stop, Start day indeed but at least it ain't raining

Are we ever gonna be part of this heatwave?! It's awfully annoying seeing England sizzle while we drown

Just back from a week's holiday based in a lodge overlooking Drumnadrochit/Loch Ness. Scenery majestic, weather less so, although not terrible.

Came back yesterday to sunny periods & warmth, think it topped 25C.

Currently sunny & 20C just now.

More of less a repeat of yesterday with good sunny spells. It was 25c yesterday at Leuchars and Dundee, I would guess we may be a degree or two down on that come this afternoon but still a very pleasant summer's day.

Yesterday was warm but a lot cloudier than expected.  Today started warm but again cloudy and now we seem to be under a random slither of moderate rain on the radar!!

Second decent warm/hot spell of the year and absolutely no sign of haar here in Leith on either occasion.  Anybody up the east coast experienced it this last month or so?

Nope, shuggs - none whatsoever...Higher than average SSTs?

Maybe Ed.  Looks like we're 1-2˚C above average around the coast.  But having said that both of these hot spells have been hotter than anything last year, so does that mitigate against the sea anomaly...?

Not sure, shuggs - but every 1C increase in water temperature requires roughly four times as much heat as a 1C warming of air...So, it might be?:)

TCu & CB activity in the vicinity of Aberdeen at the moment. Nothing by way of lightning though. Been a beautiful day up till now.

Quite heavy showers here.  Seems to be localised.

There's been no haar here either this spring/early summer. Certainly in terms of the last couple of days that's down to the SWly winds, that always keeps the haar at bay, ideal set up for us east coasters! It's the high pressure overhead or, even worse, light SEly drift with moist air that delivers the dreaded ****!

Just passed 7.30pm and it's hotter than at any point so far today with the temp hitting 24c!
