Mostly blue skies at my location, but enjoyment of out-of-door activities (gardening in this case) tempered by that darned northerly wind !  Temp 9C.

Lovely blue skies here after a cloudy start. A bit warmer than recent days. 15c but cooler if you're exposed to the wind.

Blue skies and wall to wall sunshine all the way here again today. Breezier than yesterday though. Day 22 of no measurable rainfall (and a mere 5.2mm recorded in April) and the River Earn now looks exceptionally low. IMG_20170508_092617.thumb.jpg.8783cfd4defe36c1bd8a378fdd019b1f.jpg

Glorious out west over the weekend, 20c and blue skies at the Glenelg brochs on Sat, similar yesterday hiking up Bla Bheinn on Skye. Even had a wee breeze to deny the midges, happy days

It's still about, it just moved here.

Saturday here was bright and sunny, warm in the sun but a stiff and bitingly cold North wind spoilt it. Oh and we started the day with -1C and a frost. Sunday and today have both been cloudy and cool so sorry to those on the West coast but for here at least a turn to more westerly winds will be welcomed.

On a brighter note, the bees have been exceptionally busy. Last weekend we checked and there was no sign of any honey in the frames in the top layer of either hive. We checked again on Saturday and both were about 70% full, which is very good going in the space of a week, even sighted beside a flowering field of rape. Wife had to go add another layer on each on Sunday and hopefully if the weather improves again we'll be taking at least one full one off each hive this coming weekend.

Gone all grey in Inverness compared to recent days, I hope it's not going to be like 2007 - autumn underway by end of May after being lured into a false sense of security in late April and May!

Don't you mention 2007 to me, SF...I attended a Janis Night (Latvia) celebration at the end of June that year. Chicken shashlik under an umbrella was nae much fun!:cold:

Pretty dreich in Peterhead today -  mostly overcast. Temp maxed at 10C and there was a noticeable breeze from the SE (I think).  I had around an hour or so to fill in the early afternoon so paid a first ever visit to Slains Castle, reputedly Bram Stoker's inspiration for Count Dracula, and had hoped to continue along the cliffs to spot puffins, but time did not allow and I was not really suitably attired for a cliff-top trail !

Day 25 of the dry spell. Looks like it may be the last dry day for a wee while. Bit cloudier today than of late but temp still up to 16C and very pleasant when the sun breaks through.   Wonder if this is the lowest point the Earn will reach this (or many a) year?

And sure enough high summer has arrived with the first of the swifts screeching round the house this evening.

More swifts arrived today along with a strong SE wind and temperature this afternoon of 19c. All plant life is wilting in these conditions looks  like Flaming June out there. Last May was not nearly so good. Cattle all lying flat out in the sun again. Hope we get some rain at the weekend but we may be on the wrong side of the Cairngorms and get very little

Have to add we have an RH of 28%. No wonder I have been so thirsty today.
