Howdy. Wee covering here. Some seriously heavy showers around tonight. Was snowing at sea level Skye earlier according to my missus, which really didn't happen much in winter itself. -0.5c

Just went to put the dog out for a pee and was rather surprised to find it snowing heavily and lying.

Skies cleared now and didn't last very long. Probably gone by morning but nice lamppost watching all the same.

World turned white up here this morning as well. The birds nesting in the hedge are not amused.

2.9C at home this morning with the remnants of a wet covering on the cars and select spots. A rash of heavy wintry showers rattling through on a strong wind so far, a real mix of everything but on the wetter side of the spectrum. Hills to the west of Kemnay had a white covering of wet looking snow as I left for work as did anything with just a bit of height (roughly 200m and upwards).

Better afternoon with a bit of sunshine but a very strong cold N wind.  Some more showers appearing across the Firth which are  looking snowy again with the grey clouds and yellow streamers. P4250497.thumb.JPG.36602b6919466b0027f6116425f59be0.JPGCurrently 4c

Looks as though the mountain  snow will survive for a few days yet with night time temperatures falling to freezing up there.Notice too that the projected heat for next week is getting watered down. Northerly and easterly winds are always more likely in spring With the experience on the farm for the last few years that the seasons are running two months late then I think we could still get a cool May. Currently overcast and 3c

Breezy but quite sunny today so far with broken cloud and around 3C at 8am. Hills to our west looked nice with their white covering this morning but I'll guess it'll be gone by the time I get home. I tried to take some quick photos on my phone but they turned out rather rubbish.

Have you any idea what happened to Straun; he was there in 2000 and used to water his hanging baskets with a water-pistol!:D

Much if any of the white stuff?

No idea, place was really run down for a long time.. was he the Skoda enthusiast? No white stuff, and in fact no rain to speak of this whole month.

So dry atm and cool.

Would rather have wet and humid than this never ending 'winter'.

Need rain and some warmth for grass growth but zero forecast. Can't think when the ground was this dry (not in peak summer), probably March 2012.

Yes same here although have finally relented and put cows and calves out full time this morning after a fine mild sunny start to the day at 10c.Wind has now got up and 10 c does not feel warm anymore. Cattle will still be getting silage to supplement the slow grass growth and if the outlook is to be believed then they will be getting silage for the rest of May. Good job we have plenty with yields last late summer very good.

Yes cows got turned out by the farmer on the Wednesday just gone. Horses are still not out full-time yet. Just not enough grass really.

However forecast looks sunny and average temps (15/16c and the met office always under do them) so perhaps that will be enough to push us on... We will see
