There was a massive thunderclap here in Dover earlier, it woke a lot of people up (evidently from bedroom lights going on). Some pretty heavy rain right now too.

Awesome and unexpected storm tonight, lots of flashing, rumbles and the odd strike to ground! Totally unforecasted :D

Where did that come from, like others watered the garden to make sure things  didn't totally dry out due to the wind.
Woke up to a major thunderstorm lots lightening, plenty of rain,  almost overhead

That must be around the 5/6th thunderstorm  this year so far, pretty good seeing as early June.

My home town voted lib dem , my area voted con with good old bedford on labour.

And I didn't get a storm.

Disgusting result.

After some early sunshine, the day is going rapidly downhill with overcast skies, blustery winds and feeling cool. Yawn.

i swear just about every place in this region has seen extremely heavy rain, lightning or just distant rumbles so far this year and I haven't gotten more then drizzle and a few moderate showers since February :nonono:

It's been pretty awful for a few years now bar the odd weak storm, this year so far has been an exception. Best places seem to be down the east/south east coast of kent as some storms go up the dover straights

We had quite a violent storm on one occasion in what i think was early July 2015 but since then its only the odd small storm that rolls over within a few minutes with a few flashes and 30 seconds of heavy rain.. Miss the longer storms with constant rumbling and flashes with rain pounding the window, the thrill of it all is amazing, especially watching it get dark as you hear it approach..

Morning gang,

Today could go up to 26-27 degrees lovely! Cooler tomorrow but from the start of the week it was looking like a cloudy showery weekend..

On to the garden and it's loveing the weather I've had something strange happen, I planted giant bamboo about 4 years ago and this year it's decided too shoot... Big time in 3 days it's grown above the stick we put in to support it

Trying to upload pics but it won't let me

Quite a pleasant morning here with plenty of sunshine. Still breezy but quite warm, 19C currently. Could be a very nice day IF the cloud stays away.

Very high UV levels today for our region first of the year I believe what a beauty looking at the satellite imagery the rest of the country is blanketed by cloud, make sure you apply that sunscreen! :)

Cracking day, good sunny spells and a very warm SW wind with temperatures up to 24C, we could hit 25C if it doesn't cloud over too much.

The cloudier skies have just arrived here, such an annoyance as it was absolutely lovely. 23C currently with a strong breeze blowing.

Hi everyone, back on line now :)

Have had three storms in the last couple of weeks, the second of which was a real cracker, strobe lightning for at least an hour couldn't believe it.

Today started nice and sunny, getting some cloud now though.
