You were lucky with the sun and warmth, how nice to have that for your trip, hope you had a great time? Without the jet stuck too far south like it is now, the weather here should have been like you had there. Paris is normally only a degree or two warmer than London in summer. Today, it was about 6C higher, due to a front over our region that's not going to clear until Thursday afternoon. Yes, 3 days away lol...

Yeah it was pretty good thanks, that said even Paris is in the cool and wet category from today onward as that low sinks into Europe with lots of showers and thunderstorms.

Oh well a dry start here near Dover. Slowly driving back to the Fens today.

So a chance of slow moving torrential downpours and the odd rumble of thunder today, then a period of more persistent heavy rain for tomorrow. The 'drought' of early summer will be a faint memory in a couple of days time with many places forecast to see over 50mm (2 inches) and some more than 75mm (3 inches).

There remains some differences amongst the high res models regarding the exact positioning of the areas that will see the largest accumulations. Here's the accumulations up to 17.00 Thurs from Arpege, GFS and NMM:

The talk of thunder is almost laughable.

Feels more like a cool autumn day out there!

There's currently two showers directly to my northwest and northeast.

Bright and sunny still here.

Maybe its gonna be one of those days where everything skirts round sunny worthing

Good Morning Folks,

Still bright in Mid Essex. I rushed and cleaned the car having heard the weather forecast this morning before it rained bu there is no sign of the rain arriving any time soon.

Kind Regards

Dave

Yet another grey and cold day here, a very disappointing 16C here, very poor. Can't see much in the way of thundery activity with this chill.

Some breaks in the cloud pushing the temperature up to 19.5c here, looking and feeling quite sultry out.

Quite humid out there, been doing fence repairs and a bit of spot spraying and it was feeling a bit cosy!

Same here NS (19C); and judging by the sudden upsurge in Ac. williams, something might happen later on?

Indeed, what appears to be a confirmed sighting just reported on UKww by a regular poster there. Meanwhile sunny and warm here just along the coast.

Yep.

Dry as a bone in south worthing, looks like it threw it down to the north!

Afternoon all :)

Here in lowland East Ham we seem to be between the two main areas of activity - the frontal rain has stalled to the west of London and over the Chilterns while the storms over Essex seem to be going nowhere slowly.

One or two storms down toward the south coast might move toward London in time.

Here the Sun is out, there's plenty of cloud and it's warmed up sharply so there may be trouble (or fun) to come later on.

Not a drop, and guess what, all around us, but nothing here!! :diablo:

It's all moving incredibly slowly, BB...Give it another 15 minutes or do? First spots of rain and a wind veer.:good:
