I really hope that we get some serious rain here in Bedfordshire, It has been dry for far to long in my opinion. A local farmer has taken a cut of hay to try and supplement his stock's meager grazing and the field looks parched.

I have to pull some weeds and the garden is as hard as a bullet, if anyone knows how to do a rain dance, please feel free to perform.

Have a nice day people.

Bone dry here too, still only had slight drizzle at best. Funny how there has been heavy showers all around me though, saw the cloud rolling in, the radar showed them clearly, and yet they all seem to miss. Most of Kent has had a fair bit of rain yesterday and this morning, but not in this little bit of North Kent/SE London, nothing.

Been a slightly better day here, 13.3c high is up a couple of days on yesterday and not had the constant drizzle, still grey and overcast though.

Slightly better here too with some sunny spells though the wind was pretty strong, unfortunately around 5pm the cloud moved back in and now back in gloom.

Wonderful to pull back the curtains and be greeted by a completely clear blue sky and sunshine. But the satellite shows the southern counties of our Region still plagued by cloud. The current set-up has been a difficult one for weather presenters who have struggled to forecast cloud amounts this last few days. The 'actual' on the day often being better than the forecast.

This morning 07.15 590c1f92bbe98_CloudFri05May07_15.thumb.jpg.bc9b72e4bc6052162bcb2cbf42ecac5c.jpg

Roll on a weeks time when we finally lose this cold air - both GFS and ECM are forecasting we'll be under a warmer southerly airflow with temps hopefully around 17 - 18C and maybe some pulses of heavy rain coming up from France.

I was certainly pleasantly surprised to awake to blue skies and sunshine! Unfortunately, the wind has increased to vile howling proportions. It would be so nice to have a calm and sunny day for once. Will be quite interesting though to get a warm southerly with chances of storms or heavy rain.

Didn't need a coat, sunny and breezy. Not too cold.

Not a bad day yesterday, good sunny spells and only some fair weather cloud for most of the day and warmer too with a high of 17C. Cloud did move in later in the day which is associated with a weak front.

Yes, yesterday was the best day of the week (and typically the day I was back at work :nonono: ) Some good sunny spells and a high of 16c.  Grey chilly start today but the sun is now trying to break through.

The cloud cover has been fairly thin today and every so often clears to give a decent spell of sunshine. The wind has been gradually easing too; gusty first thing but currently averaging 10 mph. Just after lunch there was a good spell of sunshine and it allowed the temp to get up to a very nice feeling 16.9C. Overall, not too bad a day.

This weather really is tedious. Grey, cold and windy. Only 7.2C early this morning and the wind gusting up to 23 mph. Horrible for May! :(

Thank goodness there's change coming for Thurs/Fri of this week. So will we get some heavy thundery showers moving up out of France? Carol this morning mentioning the possibility of hearing a rumble, and this morning's Arpege output confirming showery rain moving into the Region Thurs evening into Friday morning, carried north on some unstable air. A heavy shower to soak my lawn and fill my water butts would be nice! :)

Dull, cold wind, a few degrees off winter. It honestly felt wintry. Decided trainer socks and slip- ons are trendy and warm.:unknw:

Am getting fed up having brought warm weather stuffs and not been able to wear them. Found a really nice sweater, long dress and shoes.

Now I have to find a reason to buy them, as hubs as said the immortal words of 'you have enough shoes' :nonono:

Just watched the BBC lunchtime news and they had a report about the current drought with a reporter stood on the dry bed of the River Colne in Hertfordshire They also put up the Met Office rainfall anomaly chart for April which has recently been released.

But the news ended on a more positive note with Jay Wynne talking about the possibility of some heavy rain moving up from France this Friday. Hope so!

Ok, enough of this vile, cold gloom! It's so depressing. What's the point of all this cloud if all it's doing is blocking out the sun? A change is on the way, thankfully. Hopefully a warmer one, a 12C max in May is crap. Seem to get a good week to 10 days of this rubbish every Spring.

Your poor Mum, hope she gets better. It's been pretty grim weather-wise but looks like getting better soon.
