yes had a frost and yes it’s cold today ... but that doesn’t set it in stone for a snowy winter ... I’ve lost my snow vibe :unknw:

what are they saying, or is it just the usual rampers lol

Some interesting charts being churned out with lots of mid-high level blocking. No sudden stratospheric warming showing though. Polar vortex weak and disorganised. Could develop into something properly wintry for us further ahead....or not, lol.

think it is definitely not a ramping. The charts are way out into day16 but and this is the big butt it is all getting a tad exciting. we will have mild and windy blips but the relatively short time shows a rather potent northerly on rememberance sunday

yeah, snow with thunder as well, i just can't get excited of what a computer 'thinks' until it's falling.

Might just need switching off and on again.

This is the ‘fifty shades of grey” of weather. Strictly fantasy land but I’m praying it’s on to something

Lovely morning felt quite warm up here in aycliffe, however in town it was freezing. Guessing an inversion.

Let’s hope it’s the first of many cold mornings. A traditional Autumn & Winter. :yahoo:

First frost of the autumn today, had to defrost the car at half 5 this morning. Still a glorious day followed so good times.

Hehe, I would prefer January but we can't be choosers in this country! More chance of it staying after Christmas and being properly cold. Can't bear slush, much nicer when we get ice days and more powdery snow.

Would be great, problem is we had plenty of these charts last Autumn/Winter and the one before that, and the one before that!!!!!

As for snow in the lead up to Christmas, it can stick about, remember 2010 :D

felt much milder this morning, no frost, could see it was going to rain some just by looking at the clouds. Has some drizzle on /off but expecting it to pee down once I head out.

nice troll about the snow btw.:nonono:

Has it all gone pear shaped yet in the MOD thread, I'm waiting for the technical blip in the models to resolve itself and revert back to 4 months of mild super duperoo doo:whistling:

I have learnt through constant disappointment that nowcasting is the way to go with snow!
