Still felt quite mild out there today, not icy at all. Just cloudy and a breeze. *yawns*

A rather nice day here with plenty of hazy sunshine, light winds and a maximum temperature of 16C.

Well, I had a look at weather summaries for 2010 and found there was widespead fog in  November before that freezing December...so maybe NFI is worth looking into?

November fog index watch begins:good:

Is it? Not even near cold enough or even cold this house is very well insulated it's not been on once. I've never really been one to feel the cold - my mum on other hand would put the heating on in flaming June.

Same here, got mum staying with me and she's always cold, heating been on low all of October even on the very mild days that we had.

I'd love fog and frosts starting after bonfire night and 1st snowfall by the last couple of days of November! Then cold and snow on and off until Christmas day...:yahoo:

How does that sound?

Not a lot to say westher wise, a lot of high cloud over the past couple of days though with some sunshine here and there. Not a lot of breeze so it has felt pleasant.

Hopefully things will pick interest wise over the coming weeks.

It looks like we have some fog to contend with, looking at the EURO4 forming overnight.

Could be quite thick areas south and west of London, Central Southern England the bullseye perhaps some trouble in the morning commute but our region looks to escape the worst with patchy fog!

Chilly here overnight - down to 3.8C - but a pleasant start with thin patchy cloud allowing plenty of early sunny spells, although the band of cloud moving south about to spoil that:

It looks like this quiet spell of weather will be replaced over the weekend and into next week by a series of fronts bringing rain and cooler temps down from the NW and if skies clear overnight maybe our first widespread air frost.

It's a 2 out of 2 here! (although it's more mist than fog  today to be fair).

On Holiday on the 9th, staycation - hoping for nice or interesting weather.

Looks like it was widespread 'chilly'  last night, with the frost capital of our Region only just escaping an air frost:

A little colder this morning, bordering on needing gloves, but none the less not too bad.

No breeze and cloudy.

My cat seems to think it's -10 out, she won't leave the radiator.

October another very dry month for our Region with East Anglia seeing only 28% of the long-term average. Looks like parts of Essex and London were well below, not even reaching 20%!

At least it feels like autumn, even down south it used to get chilly this time of year. Always had to buy a new big knit to wear to Lewes Bonfire.

A very dull day today with a lot of stratus floating around. It still felt quite mild with little breeze around again.

Looks like we could see the first widespread frost of the season on Sunday night.

Temperatures around freezing potentially.

3 out of 3 in the November Fog Index. That yellow warning should have included the Chilterns,

Fog in November, trees have no heads,
Streams only sound, walls suddenly stop
Half-way up hills, the ghost of a man spreads
Dung on dead fields for next year's crop.
I cannot see my hand before my face,
My body does not seem to be my own,
The world becomes a far-off, foreign place,
People are strangers, houses silent, unknown.

Well what a contrast this morning in the SE, lovely sunshine and very pleasant out here, temps in Kent generally around 13c, a few miles west in Surrey/Sussex and its only 5/6c with fog!

Lovely morning here, had a nice dog walk in the woods.

I love it this time of year when the trees turn yellow and brown.

A better day today with some sunny spells, a cracking red harvest moon on show on the drive back from Peterborough. It was a shame I couldn't get a picture that did it justice.

Another very photogenic morning, with seasonal fog, cool temperatures and that hint of a winter smell in the air. Nonsuch Park was stunning and was awash with furry four-legged adventurers, hatted and gloved two-legged wanderers, and the shorter legged wrapped up cosy and warm in their pushchairs.

Shame we've lost yesterday's wonderful weather. Today looking a fairly grey and grim affair for most of us for most of the day. However, from a weather point of view IMHO there's usually something of interest and this morning (08.20) I've enjoyed comparing the tangle of weather fronts over the UK on the fax charts with the cloud image from satellite (you can see those fronts and speckles of shower), and lastly the rainfall radar. Yes I know.... I'm sad...
