Did you use the same seeds as when you grew some successfully?

No, tried watermelons this year. Did charentais types in previous years. Think they must best for the UK climate?

I think I got them from eBay but most garden centres should sell the seeds too.

A pretty nice day here if a bit cool I have a bit of a cold! Looking at the model output it looks seasonal to me on the cool side nothing particularly mild, alternating with N/NW/W flow and HP edging in.

Coldest morning here for many months, just 2C, brrr. Lovely clear skies too, hopefully that'll be the case for the rest of the day.

Well it's a bit chilly out, but hardly needed to wear long cozy coat, my thick cardie would of done or my wrap. Poor bubs must of been sweating. I dare say there is still some life in that sun that's shining. Nice to get the funny looks again wearing my woolly hat.

It felt very seasonal today - just how I like the weather as we head into November as it's (hopefully) a taster of colder weather ahead. Temp down to 3.9C overnight last night, a crisp and sunny morning, followed by a bright but hazy afternoon with a max of 9.4C, and then the temp falling away quickly this evening once the sun went down so it's down to a chilly 4.1C at 20.00.

No emoticons available on the Forum tonight, so in old speak today was  :-)

I actually thought it felt colder today. Got some odd looks wearing my hat and ghost jumper, but I don't care I have girl flu again which keeps coming and going. And it was raining a bit too.

Nice thick blanket of snow here and still coming down with blizzard conditions, got 10 ft high drifts in places thanks to the howling easterly wind. Temp -5c wind chill -20:cold:

I bet that is not the end to the banging.:D

Weather wise nondescript a bit like what's usually on the telly.

Think again Steve.. this 'Hithe' is even worse with its close proximity to Central London with the UHI in full swing. Not much to report......dark.

Is it? Not even near cold enough or even cold this house is very well insulated it's not been on once. I've never really been one to feel the cold - my mum on other hand would put the heating on in flaming June.
