Yes, the squall line has just passed through here. It only lasted 5 minutes but produced very heavy rain. It's heading SE so I fear many London folk will arrive in work soaked!

I don't think it's a squall line. It just passed here and we had a brief intense shower but no winds to speak of either before or during the rain

Just passed here very blowy now quiet.

Well the squall line passed through chessington just before I had to leave work and get the train which I am greatful for , my wife however wasn’t as lucky and decided to take the car to do the school run but still got soaked , I wished her well from the comfort of my home waving at the window ( quietly laughing) I’m naughty for being so michevious but she laughed when I sent a picture of me sipping wet last week .

Looks like a fine day if a little breezy for the remainder of the day but the coat is firmly on this morning . Looks like some ground frost possible tonight .

Anyone see the flooding in Strood today round the back of Morrisons/by McDonalds? High tide coupled with the winds this morning seemed to have created a small tidal surge

So it's a Harvest Moon tonight....

It's certainly a very bright moon tonight under clear skies. Here's my (poor) photo of the full moon over Suffolk:

Clear night lit by stunningly bright moon. Easy to remember childhood belief that little fairies danced in gardens when the moon was this big and silvery. Photo of it won't upload ☹️

Currently 8C, feels like 6

wind WNW 7

visibilty good

Well IMBY it didn't turn out as cold overnight as I was expecting, although unsurprisingly the well known East Anglia frost spot - Santon Downham with its sandy soil - got down to 2.6C. It's been a beautiful autumn morning here with currently just a few small cumulus drifting down on the NW'ly breeze.

Overnight minimum leader board for our part of the world:

Lovely day ... as night falls can smell autumn if that makes sense :cold:

It totally does, I love that evening autumn smell, nothing like it.

What a lovely day as it often seems to be in early October. I've been looking for excuses to go outside all day.  On days like this it's still a bit of a shock when evening arrives so early.

Well so far in October we have had October weather........

Not much else to say, some wind and rain, some calm chilly nights and days. Just sitting here in weather purgatory until the winter season starts.

It's back to the usual gloomy, windy crap here after a couple of lovely days. Zzzzz

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
