Not much to say about today. Just cloudy and fairly mild with just a light south easterly breeze.

Strikes me the weather today didn't quite live up to its billing in yesterday's forecasts. Damp cloudy and only average temps.

I'm in Rochester again this week and today was a lovely day to be in this part of the world - the satellite image at 16.40 showing most of Kent enjoying unbroken sunshine - and a top temp of 21C. :)

Well at least the sun came out at times today, still a lot of cloud though.

Not too bad today, some sunny spells (albeit hazy) and a high of 20C.

Traditional misty damp start but can't complain with the rest as after that it was the third warm, sunny day in a row here.

Now raining and breezy but there's nothing wrong with a bit of that at the end of September

It has been horribly hazy here in London, very poor air quality a depression sweeping away the grimy stillness would not be a bad thing.

Got woken up by the sounds of a very heavy burst of rain half an hour ago. That's passed but it still feels warm and muggy.

A wet start but a much clearer and brighter day followed thanks to a cleaner westerly wind. Still warm for the time of year which made for a very pleasant afternoon.

Bit of a damp one to start the day here, least it's Friday though with well needed weekend coming up for me :)

So are we expecting any of this storm system to blow our way on Sunday/Monday, or is it still looking like just a south west and northern parts affair?

I'm rather jealous of the views my daughter enjoys from her new house in Rochester with a wonderful panarama over the town and the Medway estuary. But more importantly, it's a belter for weather watching. Here's one of the cumulus yesterday morning and she tells me storms are amazing!

Squall line alert , probably just in time for the school run.

I got absolutely drenched this morning taking the kids to school as I'd stupidly left my umbrella at work yesterday .

Started dry then had light to moderate rain for a few hours. Now dry again but not looking like lasting.

Yes, that narrow line of heavy rain caught me on my way back from Kent to Suffolk this afternoon Mark. It was briefly very unpleasant on the A12 mid-afternoon.

1st day of October and the weather is grey and damp here in Basildon. Also the Earth is round......

Will we see a more stormy October conpared to recent one or will the benign win out again.

Definitely breezier here today, wasn’t too bad when I went out with dogs at 6 o’clock this morning, but picking up and rattling around the house now. But it’s blue skies and sunshine, so not too bad at all :)
