On the positive side I would say OMG The stuff in the channel is growing at quite a rate . I managed to snap the latest shots .

MPs the lightning shot is recent strikes within seconds .

I'm having the same problems with the lightning map!

Get an error message saying something when wrong check your Java settings :wallbash:

Also no new strikes showing on the netweather storm app, but I can clearly see and hear close strikes.

Can only hear rumbles now, our two or three really close CG"s were between 10 and 10.30..really loud house shakers LOL. Not as good as the Bournemouth cell in July 15 when I was down visiting my folks. That was unreal!

Think we'll be unlucky again in this part of the world looking at the maps. Ho hum.

The rain has near enough stopped now, had a loud rumble about 10mins ago.

Lots of lightning in the distance towards the south/southeast but no thunder from it

Well the storm has moved through, plenty of lightning and near constant thunder, no CGs, all very elevated. The rain wasn't too bad either, around a couple of minutes of torrential rain before it eased off. Got the rest of the system to move through but it is only steady rain now. Time to get some sleep I think before the next mass moves in.

Typically as soon as I post this then there was a really close CG strike almost out of nowhere.

I miss the stars!

You very rarely see them here all that /expletive light pollution and when you do not many except the bigger brighter ones. Onto the weather the humidity has ramped up, nada so far.

Still watching these constant flashes in the distance, towards the south/southeast.

Did try to get some video of it but it didn't pick it up very well.

Rain has stopped and current temp is 17c

Judging by the lack of activity I'd say the storm nr KL is pretty much done (hard to tell as Lightningmaps isn't working properly), maybe a slightly more interesting region south of Cambridge. In two minds whether to have a drive out or go to bed...

Hove here. Words can't describe the scenes down here. Apocalyptic is the only word that springs to mind. Those of you anywhere NE of Brighton, it's coming your way. Once in a lifetime storm this.

Incredible - 1.5 hours in now, and continuous lightning and thunder, and intensified rainfall for the last 30 minutes. The biggest storm here for years.

Hold the front page - third flash of lightning in 2 hours! And audible thunder! Never experienced anything like it

The rate of lightning is astonishing! (http://en.blitzortung.org/live_lightning_maps.php?map=12) and I have never seen such heavy ppn as is currently showing on the radar!!

It certainly looks apocalyptic... I doubt it can hold that intensity for long, but waiting to see what it brings this way!

Sitting here in Chelmsford and it's all quiet.

I doubt it will be in an hours time... Just hold on, it will surely reach you there. Waiting for the main bulk to hit me after having a close shave earlier and have never seen it look this promising.

(EDIT: Just hit me with some force!! Two flashes almost directly over my flat!!)

It looks incredible down on the South Coast.  The first wave that came through Bishops Stortford lit up the sky with constant lightning and if this next lot, makes it through here with any intensity left at all it's going to be awesome! Not banking on it though, fingers crossed

Agreed could be on course for the best set of storms in years. Why does all the interesting weather stuff happen at these ungodly hours same thing with snow in recent years where it’s more conducive. I see flashes to my south the anticipation is high. :D
