Wondering if we will get the predicted thunderstorm and heavy rail later today, doesn't seem hot enough here, also interested to see the reports of the record rainfall and floods in paris overnight

Well I'm sure I just saw a flash of lightening, it's gone dark here and large blobs of rain just came and went within 30 seconds of starting. Plenty of cloud building, just not sure it's gonna come to much. Building quickly to the south of us.

Thundering here, lightening off the coast. Really kicking off over southwold way again!

Indeed yes - wonder if that's where it's all going to be this afternoon - coastal only?

Looking like it, building just on land then heading out to sea.

And here, gradually becoming darker, haven't seen any lightning but it seems to be getting warmer, don't think it is raining yet but i am sure i have heard some distant thunder in the last few minutes

Amazing formation or rain in 50 mins of the Suffolk Norfolk coast.

Up to 27c in Southend yet again temps well underplayed for the nth time this last few weeks.

Do not fret. I have just put out a load of towels to dry, so it WILL rain. Not in Bedford HQ you understand, but somewhere close.

That's incredible Pete! I've just zoomed in on the Netweather radar until Beccles town was labelled and then turned the animation on. That's possibly the best storm shield I've ever seen in action! You should record that for posterity and give your movie clip a title..... maybe "The Great Beccles Storm Robbery". :D

Certainly looks like the "heavy thundery showers in the SE and E" should be translated as "a very small coastal strip of Norfolk/Suffolk"

I too noticed the sudden increase in activity, Malcolm (nice holiday phtos BTW); I presume the cells taped-into an area of high potential energy.

Seems to be mostly to my east, except for one cell just west of Swaffham.

Sitting in the garden looking at the dark skies out to the east. And north (that'll be Swaffham), South and west - zero. Zilch. Nada.
