Looking like a couple of days suited for me with a nice easterly giving much cooler conditions here on the coast, before it drops out again to crappy light SW's on thursday,

1st of two sets of new neighbours moved into day. They must be baking moving in the heat- at least it's not raining. Got some cloud which the sun is hiding in now and again and a sight breeze, but you can feel the burn just by being out there for 10minutes.

Sent Hubs to find ice cream and he came back with magnums and clothing. very nice top and shoes i can wear round the swimming pool on swim night. :good:

Despite the cloud, 28C has been reached here. It feels quite stuffy with just a light westerly breeze.

I see Gravesend and Heathrow are fighting it out to be top Tempreture again Today . Hopefully the cloud will disperse soon although it may be a relief to some that just want a bit of shade .

A modest 26 over here, SB; thanks to the sea breeze.

With only one down side: as I'm on the top floor and the sea-breeze dissipates all the clouds, tonight's going to be ultra-uncomfortable...

Sounds it. Will the breeze die down tonight? Here, it didn't drop below 17C last night and the next few nights will be warmer. Fan will be going on.

I expect it'll reverse, as the clouds (what's left of them) are still going from west to east?

A very light westerly breeze here so you'll probably be rather warm tonight.

I use to live a few miles south of Beccles, was there for over half my childhood and yes on so many summer days I would see the cloud build up only for it to melt away during the afternoon as a south easterly sea breeze picked up, best of both worlds as you still saw temperatures hit the mid to high twenties and also get clear blue skies. As for here, barely a breath of wind and now the cloud is melting away regardless of a sea breeze. We could very well hit 29C before the temperature drops.

I must add that 29C has been reached in St James park so we could beat the hottest day of the year so far. Make that 29.5C in Wisley so we have beaten it with 30C possible. I would add that a large area of central/southern England has hit 28C today.

28c and hot here as expected, though it has been fairly cloudy since after lunchtime. More sunny spells than blue skies now.

I think we can say 30c will be reached tomorrow if we don't quite get there today....higher starting temps will add 1/2c on to today's values.

Well here we have the hi-res for tomorrow and Monday

arpegeuk-41-26-0.png?17-18   arpegeuk-41-50-0.png?17-18

29/30C widely tomorrow and a degree higher on Monday. 12z suite coming out, not so sure about the plume event now, strangely a flatter solution which might prevent storms breaking out but seems to keep our part of the world hot through this week with temperatures only slowly dropping into the weekend. It could still happen and it is certainly possible that we could see the magical 20C isotherm reach later this week, I would add that this model suggests 30C is possible on Tuesday and Wednesday with somewhere like Bristol being the hotspot.

Obviously it's based on personal preferences but at this time of year my preference is for sunshine and warmth, and on that basis I give today a perfect 10/10. An absolute cracker of a day.

I'm hoping to score every day of the meteorological summer on a scale of 1-10 and since I began on June 1st this is the 4th 10/10 so far. Only 2 days have fallen below 5/10 ( 6th and 11th ).
