Great idea. Let's put a bunch of lithium batteries in the hold.

Exactly my thoughts - I really want to burn to death over the Atlantic! Or if I get lucky my expensive electronics smashed or stolen!

GFS now firming up on the pattern from Sat 20th. I think the weekend looks quiet with a ridge moving east but Monday onwards should see rich moisture return North bringing several rounds of severe into next week.

Landing in Dallas on Friday might be fun...

Might get some good views from the windows though! I'm landing Thursday - hoping for no weather delays as I'm on a domestic flight from Newark

Yeah we're on a domestic from Atlanta on Friday. Fingers crossed. Just let us land and then it can be as crazy as it wants :p

Not looking great on either the EC or GFS right now for Tour 2, has to be said.

Amazing the difference a week can make when it all looked so good. SPC retracting their 4-8 forecast somewhat in as little as 24hours though at least they're saying PREDICTABILITY is too low rather than the potential and thankfully looking like nothing much happening when I fly in. Lets hope things pick up quick though. Tour 1 should at least top off their tour with a bang.

Next week starts quiet then ends well according to GFS. The models in the US are as prone to misleading us as they are in W Europe at the 120hr + range it must be said.

"Devoid of moisture"... that's not a phrase you want to read in the 4-8 outlook when you're flying tomorrow!

Not what we want to see :sorry:

It will have recovered by the beginning of next week I'd wager. Besides, "devoid of any better boundary layer moisture" simply means a reduced risk of surface based storms and tornadoes. I stil reckon there'll be some high based photogenic stuff?

Perhaps I'm just getting too antsy. There should be some marginal chances, but after the goodies T1 have seen it's hard not to feel frustrated.

Then again, it was the opposite for me last year. An insane T2 followed by an almost stormless T3!

The last couple of times I've chased (2012 and 2008), the outlook was similar and we ended up chasing every day bar one. Ordinarily at this time of year there will always be something to chase even if its just some tumble weed across Colorado :D
