The interesting point here, is that in true terms we have no convective season. Looking back in the winter months many places had thunderstorms, as did we here, so the thread itself suggesting a no storms club from a set date, is... in this day and age less of a timely  meteorological event, as storms can and do occur in almost any month throughout the year.

yeah but it more for plumes and the like. Or if a thunderstorm event has been forecast. So mainly the spring/summer.

Heard thunder last Tuesday afternoon to the west so moved towards the club exit, then had a thunderstorm this afternoon so have finally left. Can always rely on May to bring a good storm.

As usual had to watch the storm pass by to my East, saw some flashes from it and heard a few rumbles but nothing over head.

I know! I was thinking of you in Weston when it seemed to start turning right before it got there grrr. Very frustrating. Didn't expect quite so much thundery activity today though so was a nice surprise all the same. Hopefully plenty more convective opportunities to come.

Yeah even though I missed out again, it was nice to get the season off on a good foot for our part of the world

It was amazing in Dorset/Weymouth, I have a nice video of rotation and a momentary funnel that appeared right above me in a quarry at crossways, didn't look like scud!! Will try and upload later
