It is moving away now but there was some right bangs before I put the link on here. A few of the webcams on the Italy page have sound

Underneath that cam are links to others around Rome

Hopefully no need for webcams tomorrow up my way with the looks of the forecast

Take with a huge pinch of salt, but it's fab seeing the first of hopefully many GFS modelled plumes :D

There was some heavy hail earlier today a few miles to my south and east. I drove through it near the M1/A52 junction but my brother also experienced the same near to Derby itself. Roads were flooded for a very short stretch on the A52 from what was a very isolated but intense shower.

Today was never really meant to offer anything here and so the lack of storms this far north was expected. I am liking the chances better for tomorrow for me to get out and do a bit of a chase - maybe i will head east towards Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire.

I'm glad I'm not the only one playing it, plugged into the speakers haha. Was impressive seeing the blackout that happened after that one strike.

Certainly not to be taken at face value, but it is stepping stones towards where we all want to be!

All showers stayed just North and Northeast of here, yesterday. It did make for a nice daily timelapse though, particularly 9am >  https://www.warehamwx.co.uk/cumulus/timelapse.htm

Already a couple of sferics around the UK. One near to Eastbourne, one just off the coast of South Devon and a small storm has broken out just to the west of Gretna Green. Not bad for just 8 in the morning. Currently the forecasts are for widespread heavy showers and one or two thunderstorms across the UK today. The focus for these looks to be along an eastward moving occlusion which is already affecting Wales. The problem with today is how fast the best instability gets pushed away to the east. Most charts show CAPE being high enough to produce some thunderstorms later this morning and during the afternoon with the risk starting across the western side of the UK and pushing east.

Here in Belper it is currently crystal clear blue skies and so a better start than yesterday.
